man, what a BORING 3rd round it was and it isn't very sweet to me and possibly many people. LOT of games are easily classified as blowouts (with exception of Michigan State win over Kansas). I hope Elite Eight would be something bit more epic.
Unfortunately, things didn't went so well for my bracket AGAIN with unbelievable losses by Syracuse and Gonzaga. That effectively knocked out one of my Final Four teams and killed my South Region. Heh... I am kinda bit glad that Terry suffered worst fate so I can feel better about it. Yeah, I ish evil, so what? twisted
Standing as followed:
Rick - 67 - had maddening impressive Sweet 16 with only 6 games predicted correctly out of 8 games! His Final Four teams are amazingly alive and kicking coming into Elite Eight so far O.=.O
Samman - 63 - his bracket remained solid with fortunate wins by Conn, Missouri, and Oklahoma and is a prime contender against Rick. Bad news for rest of us since Samman and Rick had different choices for Final Four from West and South regions, which guarantee points for either one of them or both.
Avek - 60 - my bracket, as I explained, took a bad beating with Syracuse's loss and it had effectively eliminated my South region. I am glad that Louisville gave a HUGE beating to Arizona and Michigan State survived the excitingly close game with Kansas. Sadly, I have few required teams left to net me points comparing to Rick and Samman.
Tiamat - 59 - sadly, Kansas' loss effectively killed his Midwest region and knocked out one of his Championship round teams. Like me, Tiamat have few teams left to net him points. Fortunately, our picks are different enough for him to remain in the race. Good luck to him.
Terry - 57 - OWCH! She suffered the worst of us all with Kansas' loss effectively eliminated her Midwest region. Unfortunately, that's 3 of regions she lost, leaving ONLY Pittsburg to win it all. If Pittsburg lose tomorrow, she lose it all! Of course, she could still win... I think.
time for intense bracket study! Let see, how I could win in family bracket contest... Louisville need to win all, of course, but to prevent others from netting points and still beating me... I would be required to have UNC to lose to eliminate Rick's championship pick and Missouri to lose to eliminate Samman's championship pick. I know that will allow Rick to get points off from Conn and Samman from Oklahoma, but eliminating their championship picks is more effective strategy since it will denied them high amount of points.
If those happened the way I wanted with Louisville facing Conn and Villanova facing Oklahoma in Final Four, I could have good standing with Samman and Rick. If Louisville and Villanova win, I could win the whole contest! If Louisville win and Oklahoma win, it might go into the final game.
As for the contest between me and Tiamat... easy. If one's selected teams win, that person win. Although, Pittsburg vs Villanova game would be the tipping point of our contest. It is not a guarantee win since those teams aren't our championship picks. I got Louisville and Tiamat got UNC, so even when one suffered a loss, one could still win the contest.
Gonna be tight again like last year >:3 good luck to all! again. Now time to start round four... Elite Eight!
peace, Avek
