Synopsis

Jarhead (the self-imposed moniker of the Marines) follows Swoff, a third-generation enlistee, from a sobering stint in boot camp to active duty, sporting a sniper's rifle and a hundred-pound ruck on his back through Middle East deserts with no cover from intolerable heat or from Iraqi soldiers, always potentially just over the next horizon. Swoff and his fellow Marines sustain themselves with sardonic humanity and wicked comedy on blazing desert fields in a country they don't understand against an enemy they can't see for a cause they don't fully fathom. Wow...This movie...wow... *sits in stunned silence for about twenty minutes muttering "wow" every few minutes*

*blink blink* Okay then...

This movie is amazing. What really caught my attention with this movie is how at the beginning--unlike EVERY OTHER MOVIE I've seen--they didn't have any credits or big jump into the title of the movie. It was just a black screen and the main character talking as the screen faded into Marine bootcamp.

Simply put with no spoilers: This movie kicks a** and you must go see it especially if you know a marine or any other military type people! Specifically a Marine my baby brother is a Marine so watch what you say!. Semper fi!
