Very Sad News
Today, Shadow passed away. We found out that her kidneys were failing and she had an infection on top of that. We gave her the weekend to see if she would heal at the Vet clinic. On Monday she looked a lot better and her white blood cell count was pretty much normal so there was no more infection. The only downside had been she wasn't eating or drinking on her own. We thought maybe if we took her home she would either eat on her own and get better or die in a more comfortable place and around family. The vet agreed it was a good idea. So, we took her home. She didn't really sleep much, and forced herself up the stairs and rested a bit in my room. Then, before we went to bed, we tried to force food down her throat and drip some water down her throat. My parents after that took her upstairs and made her sleep in their room. Today, my mom was with her on the couch. Shadow started to have some problems breathing, my mom said it looked almost like hiccups. Then, she slowly went. We said our goodbyes and took her to the clinic so they can cremate her like our other 3 pets. It still feels like it was too fast. I guess knowing she was sick for about a week made it slightly easier, but she was almost like a sister to me. Sometimes even like a daughter.
