There was a knock at the door.
Klimma hadn't been expecting company despite it's penchant for finding her at all hours, lately. She looked up from the papers she had been studying, brow quirking suspiciously. It probably wasn't Cousin, no...he generally barged right in without thought or concern for her privacy, and the spare bedroom was beginning to look more permanently occupied. Anyone else she could have expected to visit were either sleeping at this time of day or otherwise occupied.
"Delivery!" A young-sounding voice announced, however muffled by the door. Now her interest was piqued. Her last orders from the marketplace and La Victoire had arrived a few days ago. What, then?
"Coming, coming..." She responded, rising from her seat. Two vaguely feline looking creatures seemed to be struck with curiousity as well. They stretched lazily and twined themselves close to their mistress. If she hadn't been careful, she may have tripped over them. Damn cats.
Nothing seemed suspicious about this, though she was quite surprised that the delivery person had known to come around the back of the building to find the residential entrance to the second story apartment. The white-haired woman cracked open the door, to find a teenaged boy carrying a very violet-colored bouquet of flowers. She blinked serveral times, obviously quite confused.
"Ah! Ms. Gustave! A delivery for you!" The boy seemed nervous suddenly; probably having taken note of her rather strange companions, who were eyeing him intently. He held the bouquet out, indicating for her to take it.
"I...for me..? From who?"
"I-it's on the card ma'am! Ah! Those pets of yours...they're not like those Animated are they? They ah...look awful hungry!" He gulped, it becoming apparent he wanted to get out of this place and fast.
"Hm? No, no! They're mostly harmless." She stated cooly, a quick disapproving glance given down to the cat-like creatures. They had the decency to look somewhat chastised as she carefully took the bundle of flowers into her arms. "Oh but these are beautiful...should I sign something?"
"No! That's ok! H-have a nice day!" And he was gone down the stairs as quickly as he possibly could be. Klimma merely rolled her eyes.
"What am I going to do with you two?" She chuckled softly, bringing the bouquet over to the table. The pair had already lost interest upon realizing the delivery contained neither food nor toys, and had taken up their previous perches on the windowsill. It was a warm spring day, and the sun felt wonderful.
Klimma carefully propped the flowers up against a stack of books, making a mental note to find a vase. The card was carefully plucked from it's place amidst the different shades of purple flowers, some of which she couldn't even name, and opened it.
As she scanned the little card, her expression softened for a moment, and the faintest blush crept over her pale cheeks. A smile tugged at the corners of her lips, until a small realization hit her. Despite the sweet words, they didn't address her specifically. This probably hadn't been meant for her at all. Had it? Certainly he had made a careless mistake and meant to send them to her instead. Right?
"I suppose I'll give that silly man a ring later and let him know he sent them to the wrong address." She smirked to herself, setting the card down and bringing the bouquet into the kitchen to get them properly situated. Even if they did rightfully belong to someone else, it was no reason to take it out on something so pretty.
"Still though...Even if it was a mistake...No one's ever sent me flowers before." She mumbled quietly into the sink, as she filled her favorite vase with water. Despite herself, she smiled.

er... so no one's ever sent you flowers? I find that somewhat difficult to believe.
Still, I suppose anything is possible. As wrong as that would be.
