Puppet half-breed?
"Ooh look! It's pinochio's sister!" All of the preppy succubus and harpy girls laugh and snicker as a small girl, thirteen years old and turning fourteen in august, walks into the room. She is dressed in mostly all black with traces of purple and green in her jacket and a Japanese rock band t-shirt that matches her skinny jeans and green converse. She looks at the girls through her dark red hair that she inherited through her father, styled short with her bangs straight on the sides and covering her left eye, spiked in the back. Her maroon eyes pierce through the girls and they all jump and turn away mumbling.
One of the harpies flicks her big blonde curls and hisses at her, her eagle wings folded on her back, "Ohmigosh Kei! You don't have to be so pissy!"
Kei just rolls her eyes and throws her book bag and purse onto her desk. Sometimes school can be such a bother... Kei thought to herself. She looks at her hand, her eyes narrowing at the sight of the puppet links in her fingers and wrist. It is true about Kei being a puppet though the pinochio idea is ridiculous. It isn't possible for your nose to grow out like it does in that old fairy tail when you lie.
Kei's father was from a small village in the vast deserts of Borium. His parents died when he was of a young age and he inherited their special abilities of controlling puppets. They called themselves Puppet Masters because of their unique ability to create and control marionettes at will through channeling energies within their bodies. The Puppet Masters channeled the energies into the fingertips and out into strings and connected them to links in the puppet's body. The strings are almost invisible to the naked eye but are very powerful. A skilled Puppet Master can control multiple puppets at a time.
Tore to pieces by the death of his parents, young Kusora used his puppet prowess to build many puppets and created a way to turn humans into puppets themselves. Taking the bodies of people he has killed, he transforms them into his own marionettes. As time progressed however, he became sick of the burdens of human life. Everyday he looks at his puppets as the only company he has. He looked at his aging body and finally did something he would never come to regret.
Kusora turned himself into a puppet.
Having all of the advantages of being a puppet while still maintaining his state of mind and being able to control the puppets he's created, he continued on with his life as a lone warrior. The source of life he had, and the only way he exists, is a small capsule with his beating heart inside of it. It gives him life and he must protect it all costs.
Kusora made his life into a world of injustice. He went on, without any true purpose and worked for the law, outcasts, and anyone else who seemed worthwhile and would pay him though he needed no money or anything else this human world had to offer.
One of his assignments though, led him to discover something he never thought possible. He proceeded in committing an assassination of the high prince of Kontashia, one who was taking unrighteous to the next level. He invaded the castle, killing many in his path. Kusora reached the prince's chambers but what he found was not the prince. A young woman, about 22, with long silky black hair and maroon eyes, who was working for the prince to try and maintain a lifestyle she thought worth living, was changing the bathwater. She stared up at him, his appearance looking hostile while controlling one of his most deadly puppets, clearly did not see the danger ahead of her or was totally oblivious to everything around her.
She gave him a small smile and his eyes went wide, feeling some kind of weird feeling inside of him burst and send butterflies all throughout him. Kusora thought he must have not concealed his capsule well enough though he couldn't stop staring at her. Even through the dirt and sweat of her labor her face was the most beautiful thing he had ever seen. She apparently liked him as well and Kusora disarms his puppet.
And so, they moved together to start a new life. Kusora changed his name to Hikun and he married Ninau. They moved far away from Kontashia to a small kingdom called Kaijuutoshi. The couple took residence in a village named Hikyuu meaning brave warrior after their mighty king.
Kaijuutoshi is not a kingdom of humans. It is basically the opposite. The kingdom is controlled by monsters or, how they would like to be called, unique beings. Any range from harpies to sea serpents to vampires to deamons are accepted in this land.
Hikun and Ninau made their life here. Ninau was enchanted with a spell that gives immortality so she could live happily with her new husband. She had long before accepted all of the puppet items like joints of Hikun's body being able to come off, secret traps and weapons hidden everywhere, most of them coated with a deadly poison that could instantly kill, and knew the importance of that special capsule.
They made a happy life with each other until one day when something happened they would never understand. Hikun came home from work only to find Ninau puking into the toilet. She had gotten pregnant.
Ninau and Hikun both knew that no one else could have made this happen. They were true to each other. So they both reached the realization that Ninau was pregnant with a puppet baby. Hikun researched day and night on how this child was to be born and grow.
When their baby girl was born, Ninau named her Kei after her best friend from her childhood who had gotten killed in a war which was brought into the kingdom when she still lived in Kontashia. Kei grew and she still fascinated Hikun as she did so. Kei is the child of a human and a puppet. Her body is as a puppet but she has flesh and blood covering her body except for the areas where her links are. She has no skin on her hands or feet. Kei also was born with a heart and body systems but because of the human and marionette clashes Hikun was forced to remove her human necessities such as skin, blood, and organs. He remade her like himself with her heart in a capsule in her back but left things like her growing until she reached a certain age. His art with puppets though was not enough through the whole process. He used a wide variety of mages, necromancers, priests, and sages just so Hikun and Ninau could keep their little girl and have a happy, normal life.
Hikun improved her new puppet body with traps and all the things needed for an appropriate marionette while still keeping in mind that she is a little girl and needed to be treated as such. He had no problem with this.
When she was of age, Hikun and Ninau enrolled Kei into the Kaijuutoshi school system and this has been their life ever since.
"Kei!" She jumps awake after hearing her obese, big headed, cyclops of a teacher Mr. Takome, yell her name standing not even a foot away. "I see. If you have time to stay up all night making puppets and playing with dolls then I am sure you will have time for detention after school today." He smiles an impish, revolting smile and walks back to his desk clearly satisfied.
Kei groans. Not again! Her parents weren't pleased last time she came home late because she got detention. She wasn't even building puppets, just reading some manga...
As Kei walks home she pulls out one of her favorite puppets from a concealing scroll. It is a dragon puppet that is life size. This puppet particularly took a while to make, even with help from her father. Kei jumps onto its back and moves her hands as the strings from her fingertips connect to the dragon and the dragon soon takes flight.
So much better than walking! Kei giggled to herself. Without any friends around Kei is very independent. Most of the students at school convince her she is just a freak among freaks. It doesn't bother her much. With my puppets, who needs friends?
The dragon lands in front of their home and Kei jumps off. Their family lives on the edge of Kaijuutoshi to not seem too conspicuous. Hikun still has his past behind him though he isn't proud of it. If anyone were to find about about it, it would just cause unneeded problems.
They have a few neighbors that live near them but they are friendly people and so Hikun and Ninau have no problems with them. They're property consists of their large home, a vast field, part of the surrounding forest, a lake, and a huge workshop Kei and her father use to build and store their marionettes. Kei brings her dragon into the workshop, making a mental note to take a look at it for she felt a mistake in the soaring pattern of the left wing, and headed inside the house.
"Kei where have you been? You haven't been picking on the tauren triplets have you?" Her father stood against the door post and took her book bag from her as she walks in.
Kei smiles, "Come on father you know they deserved it at Halloween when i scared the crap out of them with my human therapist puppet. They stole my lollipop! That deserves a good punishment!"
