... And Photobucket goes down for maintainence. = _=;
Oh well, I've got a temp solution to sharing. (:
I went to Cochran Mill two weekends ago and got to fill up the remaining space on my cameras memory with pictures of my sanctuary in the woods.
Cochran Mill was an old mill that fell down long before we moved to Georgia. It's surrounded by forest, nice little waterfall, great hiking. It now has a nature center, though I've never been to that part of the woods...
When I go out there, I bring my book bag, some books, my notebook, a sketchbook and my blanket.
A fourth of the time I'm there, I'm actually hiking.
Another fourth, I'm reading, writing or sketching.
And half the time, I just lean against a big rock or a big tree and breathe... Sometimes I meditate, sometimes, I just breathe and feel and watch...
So, here I am, uploading my pictures to share with you guys...
These first two are probably the most popular areas to run into other people. Everywhere else I go, sans the feild, is pretty empty as far as other people go.
And that's why I like the other places.
But the rock the the water fall is beautiful in the rain and the early evening when no one's around. Midday during the work week is also nice, as not a whole lot of people are around at that time of day.
The view from the rocks at the top of the picture is awesome. I didn't get across that time to the other side and up the trail to that spot, for fear of tipping over and ruining all of my books and frying my camera. ):
I'll go back this weekend, go up the trail to where the water is slower and shallower so I can get to that spot.
This is possibly the second easiest of my spots that I go to. It's about 70 feet from the first spot, and is a little sand bar, down stream of the waterfall. The fallen trees are from the recent hurricanes.
I think they're sort of sad, but beautiful at the same time... I should've gotten better/more shots of this area...
Again, more to take pictures of this weekend...
This last one is of the thicket in the big feild. There's occassionally groups out there, family reunions and such, or at least there used to be. The trees are just magnificent...
Again, I need more pictures of this place.
On this particular trip out there, I spent about 6 hours...
I'm hoping to get out there this weekend, on both Saturday and Sunday, with an empty camera memory and full batteries...
