Water dripped down a slender nose that sat upon a pale heart-shaped face. She didn't bother to whipe her nose off but merely sat stareing into the darkness of the night above the blackened city. Her willow like body crouched in a frog style postion on the edge of a two story apartment building. Piercing green eyes blinked once and then resumed looking for activity over "her" city. She knew everything that went on even if a babe was born. Asaria rose out of her sitting position to her full height of five feet seven inches and ran a hand through her black and purple streaked hair. Out of the corner of her eye she saw a flash of light. As she turned she could see two figures running down the street. Almost instantly the swords that she could conceal in her arms were out and in her pale hands. The black trench coat billowed a bit in the soft breeze that came out of almost nowhere. Asaria's lime green t-shirt rose and fell with her chest as her breathing quickened and her heart beat more rapidly. In an instant she was down on the ground, having jumped from her position on the roof and making her way towards the bright light. It had taken Asaria a bit longer than she had expected to get there because she had to hide in the shadows when the police passed her. She wasn't exactly on the right side of the law, infact she was wanted for more than a few crimes than she cared to admit. When she got to the spot the light had come from she studied it like it was a crime scene. She made a mental picture and then walked off down the street. A few blocks away she entered a small diner and for the first time she realized how cold she really was. You couldn't tell where the purple was in her hair because she was so sopping wet. Somewhere along the walk to the diner her senses calmed and she managed to get her swords concealed in her arms again. She walked over to an empty booth and waited for the plump waitress in her pink uniform to come over and take her order. When the waitress finally cared enough to get up she made her way over slowly making sure everyones coffee was filled before she got to Asaria. Asaria blinked at the waitresses name tag and started to speak slowly and deliberately, "You know Sandy slow service is barely a way to keep customers." Sandy nodded and retorted, "What can I get you with my slow service?" Asaria half grinned and murmered an order for coffee. Afer Sandy took down her order she sauntered off and brought back a cup full of steaming hot, black coffee. Asaria nodded her head in thanks and stared out the window she had seated herself next to. "What was that all about? Who were those men," as idle thoughts ran through her head she saw a person walk down the street under the moon glow. Asaria blinked and they were gone. She lifted the rapidly cooling coffee to her lips and sipped. She tried not to gag as she set the coffee back down on the table and reached into her still damp trench coat and pulled out a five dollar bill to pay for the coffee. She slid her damp frame out of the booth leaving a wet streak across the cracked leather. She shrugged and walked out of the diner, not once looking back at anyone, not even the haughty waitress. Once on the street she scanned up and down before she started to walk westward down the street. She scanned the sky line as she started to notice how far the moon was in the sky. She slinked off into the shadows. She needed to get some place to sleep before the sun came up. Tonght was a little slow on stuff to do, but for the mysterious light and the two men. She would have to wait to figure out what was going on. She dashed into a blackened building to her dingy one room apartment. She stripped down to her underwear and grabbed a towel. Asaria strode into the bathroom and took a shower. When she was finished with her shower she dressed for sleep during the day and climbed between the sheets. Asaria closed her eyes and slept the sleep of the dead.
