Ok, so this both my girlfriends and my characters story from the time they met. It's pretty long, and unfortunately I lost most of it in a computer failure. But Ill post all I have in this journal.
The story starts in Ichijin Oroshi's manor outside Durem.
Chapter 1:
"Such a mess..." A young woman muttered to herself, walking back and forth, room to room, picking up various articles of discarded clothing. It wasn't very often so many people got up and left at the same time. It was as annoying as it was disheartening for such a social person living all by her lonesome.
The young woman had taken in such people as they slowly trickled from the battle field, injured and bleeding; vampire and human. It didn't matter. If they were hurt, she took them in and nursed them back to health. The last wave came in as quickly (and just as messy) as they left. Leaving the girl in the cleaning frenzy she was in.
She gathered up the last few socks and the last blood-stained shirt from a cot and walked down to her laundry room with the stained articles in her dainty, pale arms. After shoving them into her larger washing machine, she brushed a stray lock of hair back behind her ear and closed the laundry room door behind her as she walked into her kitchen.
The young woman, Ichijin's (Ichi for short as she preferred), eyes darted around the room as she made a mental shopping list. "Eggs, flour, butter, sugar, milk, bread...and vegetables..." she said to her self opening and closing the refrigerator door and the small pantry. She sighed and wrote down her list adding a few more items, pinning it to the refrigerator door with a magnet.
Her home, well...Manor, was far too quiet lately. She lived all by herself (save her pet rabbit Lucifer) out in the country side of Durem, about 50 miles from the actual city providence. It was a very quiet rural area, but with the recent war raging between vampires and humans, she would occasionally have a few wounded solders wind up at her doorstep asking for care. She always took them in and always nursed them back to health. They thanked her in many different ways. Some left her flowers, some offered to help around the house for a few days before they decided to head back to their own homes and families. Some, if they were artistically talented, even took the time to draw or paint her a portrait. With the recent wave departing a few days prior, she had been very lonely doing monotonous house work as she restored each living space to it's original state.
Having had nothing better to do after returning from grocery shopping, she curled up on her lush velveteen couch by the fireplace in her parlor, cuddling fluffy little Lucifer. ( before setting him down on the ground, allowing him to scamper around the room as he pleased.) The quiet atmosphere had made her sleepy, and she began to slowly nod off on the couch. Blinking slowly at the ceiling she sighed and curled into a pillow. Just as she closed her eyes a loud bang reverberated through the room. Startled, she sat upright and waited for a moment as another bang soon followed. Ichijin looked up and noticed that to noise was coming from her front door.
"just as it started to get quiet around here." She mumbled, slowly opening the great oak door to the chilly November air. She shivered and looked down to a slumped figure on her doorstep. "Oh my." She ran to the man's side and helped him into her home, bringing him in from the cold. She walked him as he limped silently at her side to the parlor and helped him to her former seat on the couch. The figure slumped down and coughed heavily as she threw a warm blanket over his body, rubbing his cold arms as she waited for him to say something.
"How badly are you injured?" She questioned. She got not a verbal response, but he lifted his head up towards her.
Ichijin gasped and grabbed a cloth from the laundry pile in a basket close by and pressed it to his bloody face. His eyes were light and half lidded as if he was in pain. His dark hair was matted with blood and sweat and covered one of his eyes.
"Are you able to speak?" She questioned again, brushing hair from his face. He winced and receded back into the couch breathing heavily. There was a large open wound running down his cheek where the dark hair was matted.
Ichi sighed and left the man's side as she fetched her medical kit from an upstairs bedroom. She came back and had him limp to a cot she dragged down with her. She settled him into an upright position and removed his tattered, bloody half coat. She threw it to the floor and discovered another large wound running from just under his collar bone across his chest to his hip. "Does it hurt if I touch around the wound?" She questioned as she gently poked his abdomen.
"Yes. P-please don't" He spoke hoarsely through his teeth. Ichi jumped back and grabbed a syringe and small brown bottle from her bag. Before the man could protest again she grabbed his arm and stuck her needle into him, slowly injecting a powerful pain killer, which also knocked him out cold. She quickly got to work, cleaning and stitching, and dressing his deep gashes.
Chapter 2:
"Oh so you're awake now?" the man blinked slowly to focus on a small figure hovering over him as she patted a damp cloth onto his forehead. He noticed that all of his clothing, except his boxers, had been disposed of and replaced with a light pair of cotton sweatpants and a very loose shirt. He attempted to sit up but was only pushed back onto his soft cot by the small girl.
"You'll rip your stitching if you're not careful." she warned, covering him with a fresh blanket.
"Who are you?" He questioned as he carefully sat up.
"More importantly, who are you?" The girl retorted back. "You may call me your highness until you properly introduce yourself like a proper gentleman would to a lady." she finished as she folded a sheet on the couch across from him.
He sat puzzled for a moment. At a loss for words he quickly eyed her over. The girl.."Her highness"...wearing a soft emerald green dress, pulled around her waist was a pearly satin sash tied into a neat bow at her back, her legs were covered in opaque white stockings, her feet nestled into fuzzy slippers in the shape of pandas, and her dainty hands enveloped in black gloves. Her hair was short and choppy and a soft golden blonde, neatly brushed as it fell framing her gentle visage, a pearl encrusted clip pulled a section of hair away from her forehead behind her ear. She looked up from her folding and met eyes with his own, they were large and blue and framed by long dark lashes. He smirked as she had a confused look upon her face.
"Are you going to introduce yourself, or are you going to stare at me all day?" she sighed slightly annoyed as she had noticed him looking her body over.
"Oh." He turned his head and sank back into his cot. "My name is not important, at least, not as much as it used to be..."
"How could a name not be important? How do you suppose I address you, dear stranger." She was slightly annoyed by his response. Normally people would just spit out their names the first time she asked them.
The man sighed, "Because I haven't used my name in months, in fact I haven't been myself in months either...something you wouldn't understand, your highness" he said the last bit with a slightly annoyed tone.
"Well then." She huffed as she stood up with the folded article. "If it concerns you at all; My name is Ichijin Oroshi. I do not take kindly to your tone dear stranger." She retorted in annoyed tone as she addressed the man by his temporary title. She cleared her throat. "You are in no condition to walk for a while as your wound closes. I will bring you supper. Is there anything in particular you would like for me to prepare for you?"
"If I ate anything I'd be afraid it would fall out of my chest" he laughed softly and groaned. "Anything is fine, and its Scott."
Ichi smiled and turned away as she walked to her kitchen. "Alright, Scott."
