Physical Description: He is a fairly young male drow, being barely 3 decades into his third century of existance, towering over most of the other elves of the underworld at 5'10", with a lean and athletic physique. His looks appear as though chiseled from obsidian, his red eyes glistening as though two rubies set into his skull, and snow white hair that falls below the shoulders, which is typically worn tied back in a pony tail. The assassin is clad in studded leather armor, polished to a sheen so dark and inky that it seems to blend with the shadows around, and a silvery gray piwafwi draped around his shoulders with the cowl hanging loosely behind.


Personality Description: Cold, calculating, self-centered, self-serving and opportunistic

Special Abilities:

Innate: Able to conjure a globe of utter darkness, faerie fire, and dancing lights each once per day. He is also capable of seeing perfectly in little to absolutely no light, as well as inside his conjured globe of darkness.

trained: (Assassination) If he studies his target continuously for about 20 seconds, Veldrin can deliver a precision strike to a vital point that is nearly always a certain kill. He can also use a variant of this technique, targeting a major cluster of nerves instead of a vital organ, to paralyze his target temporarily instead of killing them.

(Shadow Meld) When standing within a shadow, by focusing his ki, he is able to slip into a pocket dimension. Within this pocket dimension, he can see everything that happens in the area through the shadow that he occupies, and can freely move from shadow to shadow inside the immediate area. This technique is extremely useful for spying or setting up an assassination.

(Spellcasting) Trained in the Shadow Arts, Veldrin is capable of casting a small number of arcane spells each day. His most notable spells include:

Wraithstrike - This spell causes Veldrin's blade to briefly become ghost-like, allowing his next strike to phase through his target's armor, resolidifying as it passes through their flesh.

Curse Blade - For the duration of the spell, wounds caused by the blade this has been cast upon do not heal, except by magical means after the curse has been removed. Anyone killed by this cursed blade cannot be resurrected without divine intersession.

Invisibility (Swift, Greater) - Veldrin can magically render himself, or a willing target of his choosing, invisible for a period of several hours, though the spell will immediately end if the target makes any directly offensive action such as attacking or casting a spell that affects anything other than their self or possessions. The greater version of the spell does not dispel itself if the target takes any offensive action, though there is a slight distortion in the air around them that can be noticed if one is perceptive enough. The swift version of this spell comes into effect immediately, but only lasts for approximately 10 seconds, and only affects the caster and their possessions.

True Strike - A divination spell that gives the caster a brief glimpse of the future, showing him/her the exact location their target will be in 30 seconds from the time of casting.

Sniper's Eye - A spell that allows the caster to make a long ranged kill shot, provided that he/she is still in the exact spot from which the spell was cast.

Shadowform - This spell causes the caster to become insubstantial and shadowy, making it easier to move silently, hide within areas of shadowy illumination and slip through small areas. The caster can also use this spell to pass through solid objects (including magical force effects) of up to 20 feet in thickness, but this usage of the spell causes it to end immediately after a phasing attempt is made, successful or not.

Ice Knife - Using a droplet of water, or similar fluid, as a catalyst, the caster of this spell forms a blade-like sliver of ice that he then throws at his target. Upon striking the target or another solid object, the blade explodes, sending out a burst of icy shrapnel, damaging any creatures caught within the burst. It should be known that the shrapnel shards can be dodged, if one is sufficiently agile.

Special Defenses: As a Drow, Veldrin possesses a strong resistance to magics, both harmful and benign. He has also, during the course of his training in the Shadow Arts, become resistant to the effects of poison. He possesses an uncanny danger sense that allows him to react immediately to hazards that he might not even be consciously aware of.

Weaknesses: Veldrin is extremely sensitive to bright light.

Weapon: An enchanted short sword and two daggers, one of which can inject a potent venom into its target when it inflicts a wound.

Quirks: Veldrin lies constantly and is extremely manipulative, though those are survival traits where he's from.
