This is more of a journal entry just to say what I have to say, I'm not really expecting anyone to read this, but, go right on ahead if you want.
As the whole populace of this school district knows, our superintendent has been fired without cause. 99% of us loved her dearly, and she made so many improvements to our district. But, as the five members of our school board showed that first Monday they fired her and this past Monday when they would not rescind there vote, those five are only out for revenge and irrational speaking. Frankly, the meeting on last Monday was merely a formality for them, but I'm truly glad so many of us rallied in support against their wrongful actions.
Now, some of us that spoke handled things in the wrong manner, but all in all, I feel we did an excellent job of voicing our opinions, even if those with vendettas would not listen. We do have some members on our side however, we are just one too short. They speak of saving money, but their action to terminate the superintendent's contract without cause clearly is not saving money. We still have to pay her contract off, as well as pay a new superintendent that comes in. And although elderly citizens can't necessarily afford taxes, it would be a smart move for all to spend money on educations. Because without people working, there is no way the bills of the elderly will be paid. Past generations invested them, they should do the same for us. Especially if they want to keep having others to support them. Times have changed, there's much more students can experience.
In conclusion, we should get these five members out of their seats as soon as possible; hopefully before this coming monday's meeting where they want to appoint a new superintendent. Even after the community's pleas to hold off until a new board was chosen. Apparently, firing our beloved superintendent just wasn't enough for them. It is time to take those who abuse their power out of their positions so that we can move forward and keep excelling to a greater future.
