Chapter 34: Truth Be Told Pt. II


Meanwhile the ladies had been enjoying their bath and gossiped as girls usually do. Ashley then asked, “Hey, Melissa, what’s up with Tyler? Why’s he such a d**k?”

Melissa looked down and shrugged, “He’s not always like that. He’s pretty nice on a usual basis, actually!” The look on her face was telling the truth, amazingly. She wasn’t going to lie for him.

“Really,” Curstan said sympathetically, “if he’s being an a*****e then just tell him!”

Melissa sighed and shifted in the steamy water. “His parents are really hard on him. We aren’t very close like the rest of you. I envy that. His parents tell him to only do what is necessary as a team member. To them, if Lamis wins again, then he’ll take most of the credit, therefore, making his family richer than they already are!” she explained. Melissa sighed again, this time with relief that she was able to get that out.

Star looked at Ashley and Curstan, she herself rather unsympathetic as the others. “Well he needed that a**-whooping! He’s just being their puppet and it’s not their life! Hopefully, that smack to the face woke him up to see that!”

“Star! As right as you are, be nice!” Ashley scolded. Star half-heartedly agreed with an, “I guess.” There was an awkward silence for a moment. Then, ever so faintly, Star could hear her name being called. Whose voice was it? Could it have been…? No. She was trippin. It couldn’t have been anyone. Especially him.

“You ok, Star? You’re spacing on us!” Ashley asked.

Star jumped as Ashley put a hand on her shoulder and her heart was pounding in her chest. “Someone has a boy back home?” Melissa asked in a teasing manner.

Star giggled, “No, not really….” She was thinking about me and her heart began to race once again. It never failed.

What’s his name?” Curstan asked with a smile.

“Yeah, tell us all about him!” Ashley begged.

“I know! He’s not back home at all! He’s right on the other side of that wall. It’s Dyron, isn’t it, Star?” Melissa asked.

Silence.

“R-Really, Star? You want Dyron to be your boyfriend?” Ashley asked her hesitantly. As long as she’d known him, Ashley just couldn’t picture her Dyron with a girlfriend! It would certainly be a sight to behold!

There was a nod and suddenly, the girls erupted! They gathered closer around her and began bombarding her with questions. Star used a gentle push of water magic to push them back. It was weak enough not cause suspicion from the unknowing. “Yes, I really want to be with Dyron! Everything about him is just…so perfect and I want to share that with him!” she admitted with a fierce blush across her cheeks.

“Well you two are getting together! We’re hooking you two up as soon as we get out of here!” Ashley declared.

“Well what if he doesn’t feel the same way?” Melissa questioned.

“He’d better!” Ashley laughed.

“No!” said Star, face still aglow. “It’s ok if he doesn’t…” she answered quietly.

“We are not taking no for an answer! Dyron loves being around you! He’d love nothing more than to be honored with a girlfriend like you; I just know it! Trust me Star. If there’s one thing I know, it’s Dy! Knowing Dy, he loves girls like you!” Ashley reassured her. They agreed that as soon as they saw me, they’d make us talk.
