Well, it's been a while since I wrote anything in here...
A few major things have happened in my life since I last wrote in this journal. The first one I can think of is the fact that Robert has been laid off from his full time job and is now trying to collect unemployment. He was laid off when the Menards General Manager claimed that he lied about not being able to come into work. So O'Brien and Associates told him not to show up at work anymore and said that he couldn't be transferred anywhere, so he was basically laid off. Unemployment is inspecting it to make sure that he was laid off and not fired. If O'Brien and Associates say that he was fired, he can't collect unemployment and then can't pay his bills... not good.
The next thing I can think about is something I've had for a while and I never mentioned in here. I've been doing a little radio show on Sunday mornings on 96-1 TCX. I have to get up at 4 am to get ready for work because I not only have to do the show, I have to turn up the AM station transmitter, and record news and weather. What sucks about it is I don't do any board ops anymore because all of the salary full timers are doing that because they can't afford to pay me for the board ops. Oi vey! So I technically work only 3, 4, or 5 hours a month for them now. I haven't even done commercials for them yet! But I'm hoping that after working for them for a year I can gain enough experience and go somewhere else... all I have to do is figure out how to record one of my shows.
I plan on going back to school in 2010 for journalism. I'm thinking that UW-Oshkosh is gonna be my best bet. I'm going to go part time so I can keep working and have time for homework. Once I get my Bachelor Degree, I'm gonna try and find a better radio job where I can do news.
And finally, my news for today. Today was an awesome day at Zales. Jean and Katie sold a 1 carat solitaire and I sold two separate guys engagement rings. These two guys came into the store together and said they were each looking for an engagement ring for their girlfriends and they already knew which ones they wanted. The first guy filled out a credit app for our Zales card and bought the ring he wanted. The second guy filled out a credit app as well, but he already had a Zales card, so he ended up buying a ring with it. The first guy got a 1/2 carat diamond ring with a center stone and two baguettes on each side. His sale totaled about $1100. The second guy bought a 1/3 carat solitaire, princess cut, for a sale of about $600. So those two guys really brought my sales up today! I was so excited and Jean was too. When I left at 3, our sales were at $5600. Now that is a spectacular selling day!
Well, I think I'm up-to-date on my life right now. If I think of anything, I'll come back and make a new entry!
