Summoning Father 2

Varden was so enthralled with summoning his father that he was not aware that Triton had refrozen the dragons and knocked out the mammals and Nissa as they had tried to stand between him and the god. Feeling a hand against his throat, Varden snapped his eyes open as Triton suddenly lifted him off the seabed floor. "I have no need for you, Longspawn of Loki."

Choking, Varden transformed into his naga form in order to wrap his tail around Triton's arm. Similar to certain poisonous frogs, Varden's tail was dangerous to touch--however, UNLIKE certain poisonous frogs, Varden could control who would be poisoned by touching his tail.

Though it would not kill a god, Varden was pretty sure that a full blast of poison from his tail would send Triton for a loop.

Yelling, Triton flailed his arm about to try and throw Varden off, but the young naga held on with all his strength.

"He may be Loki's longspawn," Alachia growled, launching herself onto Triton's back, "but he's MY hatchling!"

Reaching over his back with his free hand, Triton grabbed Alachia and ripped her over his shoulder and threw her spinning into a wall. Slamming his other arm into the edge of a door, Triton broke Varden's grip on his arm.

"NOW!" Varden yelled as he was thrown across the room.

Before they had burst into the room, Nissa had created two holograms--one around Varda to hide her and one of a fake Varda. The real Varda had managed to hide shortly before the hologram hiding her had shorted out when Triton shorted Nissa's systems. Leaping out of her hiding place in her dragon form, Varda latched onto Triton's face biting and clawing.

Rushing forward, Varden whipped his tail around Triton's fin and knocked him to the ground. Sensing the approaching ancient force, he yelled, "SCATTER!"

As he and Varda moved away from Triton, the ground exploded upward as a gigantic snake surged upward with Triton caught in its jaws. On the other side of the rapidly growing snake, Alachia said excitedly, "DUCKY!!!"

Throwing Triton up and swallowing him with a single bite, the snake arched down until it looked Alachia in the eye. "I thought I told you not to call me that, Lachi."

"Daddy!" Varda exclaimed, grabbing a hold of the giant snake's nose. "I missed-ed you!"

Transforming into his human form, Jörmungandr swept Varda into a hug as she transformed into her human form. Looking at Varden, he said, "Son."

Transforming into his human form and stepping back by Alachia (also back in her human form), Varden said, "You two should talk. Mom seems to have regained some specific memories..."

"What's the boy talking about?" Jörmungandr asked, looking at Alachia.

"Go help your brother wake the others," Alachia said, taking Varda from Jörmungandr and setting her down. "Ducky and I need to talk."

After everyone had been freed or revived, introductions were made.

"Well," Jörmungandr said, looking at Lizbeth and her brood [1]. "Lachi and I were never exclusive, and I can understand why she didn't tell me that she was not attached to anyone."

"Convenient memory loss," Nogard said before Xangord, Dragon, and Shalimar all slapped the back of her head. "OW!"

Jörmungandr laughed. "Father would like them."

"And how is that old fool?" Alachia asked.

"Missing your pranks," Jörmungandr replied. "Always friends?"

"Always," Alachia said.

"Daddy can you give us a ride?" Varda asked. "I'm too tired to swim back to Dragon's house."

"Of course," Jörmungandr replied, transforming into his World Serpent form. "All aboard who's going ashore!"
