The Diary of a Dummy Head
Let's just pretend I'm interesting. :D
Jesus never preached in a church and neither should you.
My mom asked me why I don't go to church anymore. I've got a plethora of reasons, but I tried out a new one, other than the comfort of home, general displeasure of the churches my family goes to and others.

Growing up, I was required to read the Bible at least 15 times for my Missionettes training.

And you know, the only thing I really took from that is this:
Jesus never preached in a temple.

Actually, the only one that I can remember him preaching in was the one he screamed at people in, turned over tables and went balistic in, because he was so pissed off at what was happening "in his father's house".

He went to temple, growing up, but he never preached in one.
It was always on a hilltop, or next to a river or lake or some body of water.

His apostles, who we're supposed to base out ministers off of, did much the same.

So, why do we have these man made churches then? Why do we go inside of an artifical location when God supposedly made the heaves, the earth, light, dark, water, trees and every other animal on the planet?

We get away from God's Green Earth to go into Man Made Buildings?

Sure, there's rainy days and other such unpleasant weather or obsticles. But a nice, cool day in the Spring time, why don't churches set out some blankets and chairs and have service outside for a change?

They go and sacrifice being closer to God's creation, so they can be closer to their man made idols and their version of comfort.

Mom sorta agreed, but said there was no changing the way things were. rolleyes
She asked me if I thought of her that way and I told her, that it's not her fault that they have sermons that way. But it is her fault for not thinking about it too hard.
And she laughed.

BUT
She did say, that once the weather gets warmer, she'll start teaching her Missionette's class outside, weather permitting. Which is sorta good, I guess. o_O;

At least it's something.
You know, baby steps.

xp

On a semi-related note, we've been moving stuff out of our garage to donate and make room for Kim's stuff, once they make the move. So I've been busy this last week and will be up until tomorrow night when I get my stuff together in my backpack to go up and see Skippy and Kirk for New Years. (:

But the cool thing was, I found a tent in the garage, along with a dozen other cool things. surprised There's about a dozen forests and campsites around here too.

Anyone wanna go camping with me? [: We can have a weenie roast and oogle the stars... surprised

Come on.
That sounds sexy, no?
