The life and writings of a Victorian Werewolf~
Suki's herbal remedy entry!
I feel like sharing my herbal remedies that really do help, and are all natural! I'll be adding more when i try new things.
Fell free to use them at your own will, and tell me if they worked! Most are teas, they can be drunk hot, or cold. whatever your taste is. Most work better hot.

[BLACK TEA: natural astringent, helps take away skin oils well without drying skin]

Morning facewash: (great wakeup call!)
Two BLACK tea bags, and a full sink of hot water(hot enough to your liking)
Either soak face(involves holding breath) for 10 seconds at a time. Soak for about 3 times. Or splash face, and scrub. Reccomended to break tea bag open to allow a stronger wash. Ok to drink!

Anti-itch bath: (great for when you get many mosquito bites. I don't recommend for posion ivy. also helps colds)
5 Black tea bags, Dried rose petals, Sea salt and a tub full of hot water. Add peppermint and/or spearmint leaves to releive headaches, body aches and colds.(optional)
Black tea helps take away all the nasty oils, and cleanses. Rose petals help numb pain since it has natural pain relievers. Sea salt will help dry out but bites, and take out the stuff that makes it itch.
~prepare a hot bath. First, really hot water. Careful it can burn! Fill tub up 1/4th of the way with very hot water, and take the black tea and mix it in. Break two bags open and let it flow around the bath. while doing this, take a handful of rose petals and mix in with it. Its good if you invest in a metal tea basket so you dont keep petals in the water. Do same with peppermint(optional) Next, fill up with cold/lukewarm water to get the tub to desired temperature. Add half a handful of salt or less, depending on how oily your skin is. The dryer your skin, the less salt you use. Mix salt around until it dissolves. Lay in tub. I reccomend to not stay in for more than 30 minutes. You can dry your skin out ALOT. Its ok to get hair wet. It helps prevent greasy hair too! Also, scrub bug bites with a cloth, or sponge. Or anything like a facial exfoliatior to scratch and open up bites to allow bathwater to really cleanse. just dont make yourself bleed!
(You can try using this without a bath, or for poison ivy by boiling and mixing remedy in a pot, and soaking a washcloth. Allow the cloth you soaked in remedy on the spots. I never tried it because i never had poison ivy, but you can if you want. Also, try this alternative instead of a bath on bug bites. Do not use remedy for sunburns or itchy tattoos.)

Relax and purifying bath:
Peppermint, spearmint, seasalt.
1 tablespoon sea salt, plenty of peppermint tea leaves and spearmint.
Great to take a hot bath with these herbs. Helps relax, clense and purify your body. Add as much, or as little peppermint and spearmint as you want, the more you add the mintier the bath. Great when you have period cramps, or body cramps. ALso, great for mental: to relieve stress, while in the bath, think about problems that exist, think of them long, and hard. When you drain the tub of water, think those problems draining with it. Sit/lay in tub until completely drained. Add candles, and a prefered scent of inscence. Choose something floral or relaxing. Play relaxing music too, or whatever you find that calms you.

TEAS!
Enjoy hot or cold :3 I prefer hot!
Reccomended to take herbs and place them in a coffee filter. Tie up filter with string or a rubberband and leave alot of space inside for herbs, or let herbs sit inside tea pot and sift with a small strainer when pouring into a cup.(that works best!)

Headache/sinus relief:
Rose petals and peppermint/spearmint and chamomile.
Brew tea in a teapot or normal pot to boiling.
For one cup, add about one tablespoon rose petals(I prefer crushing into a powder or cut)
One teaspoon peppermint(cut/crushed)
Half teaspoon(or more) chamomile. (easier to just mix with a tea bag of pure chamomile)
For more than one cup, double/triple amount of herbs if desired.
The more chamomile you use, the calmer you will feel, careful. Add too much and you'll be sleepy.

Goodnight tea: (ZZZZZzzzZz)
Chamomile, lemongrass, and cherry bark
All three used at once will help sooth and relax your body! Great for those horribly stressful days.
1 tablespoon chamomile, one teaspoon lemongrass, one teaspoon cherry bark(crushed into powder)
May taste bitter. Mix in with an Anise star(the anisette seed pods) to improve taste I reccomend using an alternative sweetener. For those over 21: Add liquor (something like vodka, or something of your taste) to give it a potent kick. Use 1 tablespoon for a cup. Add after brewing, and when tea is cool enough to drink. Adding when boiling, or really hot will take away alcohol.
Drink right before bed.

Sour stomach relief tea:
Whole lavender flowers, cut eucalyptus, cut peppermint leaves, and licorice root.
Crush lavender flowers to bring out a soothing scent and helps brew better. Same with the licorice.
2 tablespoons lavender
1tablespoon eucalyptus
1 teaspoon peppermint
1 teaspoon pure chamomile
1/2 teaspoon licorice(crushed)(do not use if your pregnant!)

Brew in a tea pot, recommended to brew more than one cup in pot
Add sugar to sweeten, and to help sooth. Dont add sugar if you have a sour stomach from eating too much candy XD

Cough reliever tea: (great hot or cold!)
Cherry Bark(crushed), lemongrass, licorice, and ginger.
Helps coat irritated throats and break up mucus.
1 tablespoon cherry bark finely crushed/grinded
1 tablespoon cut lemongrass
1 teaspoon or more licorice
1/4 teaspoon ginger
add sugar if desired.
boil in teapot. Add more of each if you want a stronger tea.

I will add more when I have time!
I've used all of these to help, and i've never been sick since. Whenever i feel a cold coming on, i drink the reccomended tea.
Also great if you boil the tea, pour it in a bowl, then breath in the steam!
