Salathielly's Commonplace Log
I don't have much interest in Gaia at the moment...
Probably because it was a sort of escape from work and now that I am no longer working...

Plus, I am still watching an inordinate amount of anime. I remembered watching a little of Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles in anime club in college, so I thought I would watch that. Mistake, but a happy one (Fai/Fay/Fye is amazing...and Kurogane's fun too). Because even with all of the OVAs, the story still isn't complete (not to mention the confusing time jumps...if it wasn't for Wikipedia, I would have been quite confused). And since that series draws on so many other CLAMP series that now I am knee-deep in CLAMP stuff. I started reading the Cardcaptor Sakura manga while I was waiting for the slow-streaming Tsubasa, and then I ended up watching that anime series as well. Although the series was a little young for me, I liked a lot of the characters, and it made some things in Tsubasa make more sense. I love Touya and Yukito. They are adorable. Yue was very very cool as well. I want to know more about Clow Reed, but I have the feeling that I am going to have to wait until the Tsubasa and xxxHolic manga series finish, if even then. I want to learn more about Yuuko, too, and how she got to know Clow Reed and created the Mokona, etc. I really enjoyed watching xxxHolic, too. I'm not one for scary/supernatural stories, but this one had some very interesting messages and a great cast of characters. I love Watanuki. Him and his flailing around is hilarious, and he's also a good kid. Doumeki's pretty awesome as well. And I love the kudagitsune! I want one. Sooooo cute. And then I read all I could of the xxxHolic manga, and now I'm reading all I can of the Tsubasa manga. I hate starting stories that aren't finished yet, but it's very intriguing.

I don't dislike reading manga, but I prefer to watch anime. I think part of it is the music, and the color. Hearing the Japanese voices while reading the English words is also more enjoyable to me than just reading the English words for some reason. Action sequences also make a lot more sense to me in animated form. I've never really been much of a comics reader, excepting when I was in college and read a lot of webcomics.
