My Writing
So, it's gonna' suck, but I'm trying hard to get better. Don't be a b***h. If you don't like it, ******** off.
It was raining outside. The precipitate would hit the roof, and you could hear it all over the old house. From the kitchen, even, you could hear as the rain hit the tin vent for the stove top, and little pings would echo throughout the entire house, giving an almost calming sound, that eventually faded back into the subconscious of your mind. Zale had nothing to do. With a family out of town, and an old pickup truck with no AC out, he didn't dare venture into the outside world. In fact, it would be insane, being it was forty degrees outside and raining cats and dogs. The brunette's clothes said how the temperature in the house was, without a thermometer-- a shirt under a big comfy sweatshirt and then long john's followed by a pair of navy blue sweatpants. His socks, always odd colours, were green and blue, continuing up to the mid of his calf. If only he had a friend, a cat, a dog. Something to do in this house but exercise on a ten-year-old treadmill. Zale hovered into the living room, grabbing the laptop off the couch and going to sit in the recliner. Thank god for wireless internet, now he could watch TV and be on the computer at the same time-- instant gratification. Reaching for the remote on the coffee table below him, with his feet, Zale quickly brought the clicker to his hand. This always made him feel like a monkey, which he loved, despite the fact that he hated monkeys. But, hey, who doesn't want hand-feet like monkey? Zale clicked the on/off button, with no success. Dammit, why wasn't the TV turning on? Maybe it was the batteries, or just the angle he was pointing at the TV, but he certainly wasn't getting up. The brunette tried again, rapidly pressing the button down with his thumb, and the TV screen flicked black and white, and came on. "Ha! That'll show you who's boss." Zale yelled to the TV, feeling a surge of triumph over his body. Now he could watch one of eighteen-hundred channels that consisted of cable television. Turning to Cake Boss (one of his favourite shows), Zale logged into Facebook. Damn, no notifications. Now I have is television, he thought, setting the laptop down on the carpet, and closing it. Getting comfy by grabbing a blanket on the back of the chair was a mistake. The doorbell rang. Who the hell could it be at...eight PM. Surprising though, he wasn't expecting anyone. Zale took his time getting up, and obviously whoever was at the door was impatient, for they kept hitting the doorbell, and the sound was now an annoyingly consistent buzz. Christ, couldn't they wait? He trudged to the door, peeking out of the eye hole, but seeing no one. "Hello?" Zale questioned. They should've been able to hear him, but no one came into view. Zale unlocked the door slowly, and opened the door, being cautious. Peeking out, he gazed upon his three best friends, standing in the rain, waiting to come inside. "Dude, are you letting us in?" Asked the tan, dark haired Anthony. Anthony wasn't the best friend out of the bunch, but he was close to it. His muscles were visible through the soaking wet white shirt he was wearing. "Oh, yeah, um, c'mon in." Zale said, a little timid. Why were they here? Did someone get hurt? They never came to his house unless they were desperate. Everyone knew it was boring. The girl came in first, followed by a guy and Anthony. They would need clothes. Zale shut the door and locked it. He always did and his friends knew, so they weren't creeped out. "I'll get you guys some fresh clothes. Feel free to jump in the showers." Zale said, quickly walking to his room and grabbing three pairs of clothes. They were one-size-fits-all sweats. You couldn't go wrong with that. "You guys know, there's two bathrooms, each with a shower." He said to Alyssa, the girl, and Anthony. "Oh, no, I'll go last. Alex can go first." Said Anthony, pointing to the other guy in the group. Alyssa and Alex were dating, and made it obvious, but they were the most whiny of the bunch so it was a good idea to let them go first. Plus, it's not like they'd consider showering together. Poor Anthony, being stuck with them constantly. Maybe that was one plus side Zale had to his life-- no annoying third wheel.
