Ever wondered what in the world had happened to it?
For some time now, I have noticed that most debaters nowadays attack the person instead of the topic. Their excuse is because they're using ad hominem, but in reality, they are forgetting the point of the debate. The types of debates in the 1930s, with all the civility and decency are rare nowadays. All these fakes ever do is attack their fellow debater(s) that doesn't agree with them by going all personal about it. You can see that everywhere, from common arguments, to political, religious, societal and even intellectual circles. One could say I'm being some whiny elitist, when in reality, I'm not. Decency in debates is rare nowadays. Even in your debating tournaments, things could go very bad bery fast.

To sum things up, here's a saying of mine:
There are many debaters, but only a few can do what it takes to actually do it well! To the good debaters, success nor failure are the ends. What are the ends to them is that they have debated well!
