These characters are from the village of Lunaliam. Warriors from this village are guided by the wisdom of the moon. They do not worship the moon, but believe it holds wisdom and a mysterious power. They channel that power and use it for either battle or healing.

*Naomi Crescentia Miyoko
Main Character
Age: 20
Naomi fights to keep herself and her family free from the violent nation of Kadeem. Because her parents were killed when she was twelve, the burden of raising her two younger sisters fell upon Naomi’s shoulders. Thus Naomi had to mature at a very young age. Before joining the war, she always made sure to put on a happy face and smile for her younger siblings. But once the kids were tucked into bed, she would usually cry herself to sleep, with only her best friend, Freya, to comfort her. When the forces begin running weak, Naomi leaves her siblings, friends, and village behind in order to defend them all. Using the power of the moon’s light, she uses her magic to heal her fellow warriors and fight against the Kadeem forces.
She is very spunky and energetic, and remarkably good at hiding her depression.
Wit and intelligence comes easily to Naomi, and might even be considered one of her specialties. She is also remarkably brave, not hesitating to rush in to a battle in order to save a fallen comrade. She prefers defensive fighting style and hates harming others, but will not hesitate to if her comrades’ lives are at stake. Mainly, Naomi works as a medic, using her healing powers to aid the wounded. On rare occasion, she does join battles, but rarely inflicts death on enemy warriors. One of her biggest flaws is that she has trouble killing anyone – even an enemy – because of having to watch her parents bleed to death right in front of her eyes.
Freya Somatra
Naomi's best friend
Age: 19
Freya is her parent's only daughter. Her mother died during child birth, so she was raised by her brave father. She became best friends with Naomi when they were four, and they've always been inseparable. After her parents died, Freya's father tried to take in Naomi and her siblings. However, Naomi didn't agree with putting the burden on her best friend's father. Since then, she has helped Naomi raise her two younger sisters. Once the kids are in bed, she comforts her best friend as she often breaks down in uncertainty. When Naomi decides to join the fight to protect her nation, Freya takes the responsibility of watching over the two kids. It's the least she feels she can do for her friend. She has a very optimistic personality, though she knows when optimism is impossible. She to help Naomi cope with her burdens while living her own life with her father.
Yue Miyoko
Naomi's middle sister
Age: 10
Yue is, like her older sister, a spunky little girl. She is sometimes called a troublemaker and often gets Naomi in trouble for her mischievousness. Yue remembers very little of her mother and father, and only remembers hiding the night they were killed. She looks up to her big sister and is very reluctant to let her leave. Most of the time, she refuses to listen to anyone other than Naomi and will only acknowledge discipline by her. After she leaves, Yue often tries to mimic Naomi and take care of her younger sister, despite Freya's presence.
Tamah Miyoko
Naomi's younger sister
Age: 8
Born blind, Tamah was a 'bad omen.' When she was born, the village leader told their parents that this child was an omen of death. A few months later, their parents were killed. She isn't shunned in the village, but parents like for their children to avoid her. She tends to feel helpless and cling to Naomi and Freya. She has developed a close relationship with Freya, often telling her things she wouldn't even tell Naomi. Tamah tends not to be around Yue because she doesn't like her curious and mischievous nature. After Naomi leaves, she clings to Freya despite Yue's attempts to become a caretaker.
Badru Cohen
Leader of Lunaliam
Age: Unknown, but 50+
As leader of the village for thirty years, Badru is seen by the elders as 'the best leader Lunaliam has seen.' However, to the future generation (Naomi's generation) he is seen as out-dated and very close-minded. He tends to avoid and reject change, but is fond of the young people of the village. Badru tends to show sympathy to Naomi and her siblings, despite his thoughts that Tamah is a bad omen. When she leaves to aid in the war, he tells Naomi that he will make sure the children are well looked-after...that he will keep an eye on them to make sure Freya isn't too overwhelmed. His wife was killed in the raid that killed Naomi's parents. Like the rest of Tivona, his views on the war are negative and unwanted.

Only Son of Badru
Age: 23
As the son of the village leader, he is expected to be a good role model and make wise decisions. Because his standards are higher, he often comes off as arrogant, smug and self-centered, but he is very mysterious and doesn't let people in. However, he makes it very obvious that he has a crush on Naomi. A year prior, he joined the struggle against Kadeem. Upon request, he comes back to Lunaliam. Freya blames him for putting the idea into Naomi's head to join as well - even if there isn't any proof. The two of them tend to bicker over everything. His true personality is later revealed to none other than Naomi.
Taini and Mahak Miyoko
Naomi's parents
Loving as can be, they protected their daughters until the end. Their father, Mahak held off three Kadeem warriors long enough for the three kids to hide. He was stabbed by a Captain or General while the other two raped and murdered Taini just across the room from the closet that the kids were hiding in. The General approached the closet, and Naomi threw a blanket over Yue and Tamah. The door opened before she could hide herself. She was forced to watch them die.
Badru says that Naomi takes after her father - caring, brave, and plenty of energy. He says she's also great at covering her sadness with sheer happiness...just like her father used to. Yue is said to have her mother's mischievous nature.
