Black Comedy

On November 13 I saw Black Comedy at Santa Clara High School, written
by Peter Shaffer, directed by Angelo Reyes, and played by Ido Shoshani, Megan Lipari,, Rebecca Hauck, Jessica Penfield, Rebecca Kristy, Bethany Salvador, Bianca Floesca, and Kaitlyn Matias. The show was a comedy about seven house residents’ night during a black out, hence the name “Black Comedy.”

The story line was a very interesting and clever concept about how wrong things can go because of a simple black out. It was very entertaining and certainly a delightful way to end a long week. I liked most of the script but some parts were just a tad confusing, like in the beginning because the audience has just came into a scene where the characters know everything but the audience is so new to the conversation they’re having, it all becomes clear in a few minutes though.

The audience seemed very interested in the show, I saw many people on the edge of their chairs, clinging onto what the actors were saying. I thought the show was wonderful, with many laughs and a few shockers every now and then. The small things that some of the background characters did was a very nice touch as well.
