This is today's news...
Lace
Her hair was blonde in perfect curls
Her eyes clear blue, skin pale white
Her dress a lacy masterpiece
Her smile, innocent and bright

“Will you be my friend?”

Without hesitation, you say,
“Of course.”
A smile beams between you
With no sign of remorse.

The small girl leads you home
To come over and play.
Her house is large and white,
With shingles of gray.

You hold open the door
Then follow her in
“Let me show you my room”
She says with a grin.

Inside her room is a wonderful place.
Plenty of toys lay about
And her bed bears a canopy of lace.
“Isn’t’ it pretty?”

You quickly agree
With a broadening smile
This is the nicest room
That you’ve seen in a while.

Hours have passed,
And its growing late.
You stand to leave,
But the girl says, “Wait.”

“Can’t you stay forever?”

With a knowing smile,
You tell her goodbye.
“My mother is waiting
With supper and pie.”

You turn to leave
But she blocks the door.
She grabs your arm
Like she did before.

“Can I show you my dolls
Before you go?”
She pleads and pleads
And you just couldn’t say no.

The girl opens a door
And leads you on in
As she closes it behind you
Once more her face is covered by grin.

Breathtakingly lovely
All over the walls
Stand rows and rows
Of the most perfect dolls.

Life size and lifelike
They are all dressed in lace.
Crowned with beautiful bows;
Not a hair out of place.

Your breath flies away
At the marvelous sight
All the dolls are still
As they’re bathed in light.

You look close at one.
At her too-perfect face.
Your hand brushes her arm
And the ruffles of lace.

But your heart lodges in your throat
Something’s not right.
Her skin is too soft
Though cold and pearly white.

“What’s wrong?”

You don’t answer
As you fight for your breath.
You now know what’s wrong:
The dolls look like death.

You turn to run
But the door is locked.
The girl picks something up.
You are scared stiff and shocked.

“My friends all tried to leave.
Now they stay forever.”

She holds up a needle
And injects your arm.
In moments, you cant move.
“I don’t mean any harm.”

The girl insists sweetly.
Too sweet, you realize too late.
The poison is working
It’s now sealed your fate.

Now you lean against her wall
In ribbons and lace
With glassy eyes
And a too-perfect face.

The lonely girl
Still lures in more “friends”
You hope they notice, before it’s too late
And their too-short life ends.

Please, call me Rabid. ;D All my friends do.

I apologize for any unwanted spoilers in my signature... v.v
