i walk alone
the only sound
is the tap of my feet against the pavement
the world around me is gray
the feelings gone
i look down
a kitty
it looks at me
its big eyes twinkle
i pick it up
me and that cat go passed town limits
i feel free but still no
i dont know what freedom feels like
i dont know what anything feels like
now colors fill my sight
but the saddness still fills my person
i let the cat down
"run along now"
i nudge it onward
after it is gone
i walk again
days pass
months
years
still i feel nothing
maybe that is how it is to be
i will not ever say
i love you to my true love again
if i could i would have never let them take my soul
'cause i didn't know
i would not beable to come back to you
