The GIFTS
He had been waiting for me, holding something tenderly in his warm hands
He handed me a box wrapped in plain paper, loosely tied with a blue ribbon
"I don't have much to give you; but I give you all that I am," he whispered.
He gently placed his gift upon my hands and said,
"It is not fancy, nor filled with high polished words but it is freely yours."
I looked from the gift he had placed upon my small hands,
to his warm blue eyes,
"But I have everything I wanted, right in front of me."
He bade for me to open the gift he freely gave,
The gift he had so freely given brought tears upon my cheeks and
A tender smile upon my face.
I had been waiting patiently for him, holding my gift for him in my arms.
"I don't have much to give you; but I also give you all that I am," I said.
I opened the gift I had for him and placed it gently next to his.
"It is not perfect, and has several flaws but it is freely yours."
Two hearts, placed side by side, we saw.
Beating tenderly and warmly for each other.
