The Moviewalkes
When people ask others where they’re from,
They usually have an answer.
When they ask me where I’m from,
I do not have an answer.
I’m just part of everything.
The places I go to.
The places I’ve lived in.
Like those people in the movies
Who just walk past the scene
As if their purpose in life was to walk.
Just to keep walking and never worry.
To walk blindly without a care to have.
When people ask others what they think,
They usually have a thought to share.
When they ask me what I think,
I do not have a thought to share.
I don’t think anything
About the neighborhood I’m part of,
Or the boro I’m part of.
I’m just there.
Like the movie walkers.
I walk and walk,
Through the movie I call life.
When people ask others how they feel,
They usually have a story to tell.
When they ask me how I feel,
I do not have a story to tell.
I have a scene to walk through.
A movie to walk.
Sometimes I linger unnoticed to watch a scene,
Like the movie walkers.
What others way consider a story,
I consider a walk-through scene.
A feeling is just an act
In a walk-through scene.
When people ask others who they are,
They usually have a life to tell.
When they ask me who I am,
I have a scene to describe.
I walk to let them take.
Give them a chance to walk
Through a walk-through scene.
And see the things they call feelings,
Become just acts.
Give them a chance to walk without a care.
To be a movie walker,
Just like me.
