A secret wish, upon this star.
That soon you won’t be so far.
She takes a breath, then she sighs.
Shakes her head, then she cries.
Walks back to the porch, sits in her chair.
Knows silently that this isn’t fair.
But she bites her lip, doesn’t say a thing.
Although she’d do anything to be your everything.
The star twinkles, puts her tears to shame.
Falls to her knees, sobs out your name.
But he friends hugs her, says it’ll work out.
She doesn’t know what she’s talking about.
Every time they say it, she doesn’t believe.
Because the urge may be there, but it’ll leave.
She already knows, this summer will be Hell.
