I'm cleaning out my guild list. I belong to 15 guilds. That's too many guilds.
I get sentimental and attach feelings to inanimate objects. I'm a pack rat. I have to let these guilds go though.

Mechanical Animals
It's a CB/Polling type guild. I joined it way back in the day when I received a random invite. Seemed like a nice place, but I didn't post in it much. And even when I did, the place was already too clique-y and I was usually ignored. It's barely hanging on now with a small group of people who post in it. It's not a bad place, but I just don't have time. I made 23 posts.

[ B U R N :: the everything guild ]
This was a more recent join. Maybe a few months ago. It seems like a nice place. I received a random invite. I decided to join because it looked like an okay, active guild. I just don't have time for it.
I made one post in it.

The Literate Spam Guild
I think I joined this one back in 2005. @ .@ It was the one guild I requested to join and was so happy to be accepted. Hmm, maybe it was early 06? Anyway, it was very active and full of cool people and cool topics. And, after I joined, I realized that I knew one of the moderators from another small forum. It seemed like it'd be great.
I did post a decent amount in there for a while. I haven't posted in there in years though. It boosts that it promotes "literacy without elitism." Yeah right. I don't know how they treat others, but it looks like it's just full of wannabe prommies now. It looks like a miniature GD forum.
I made 35 posts in it.

20,000 Poll Guild
This guild was made so that the people from the 20,000 post thread... or whatever its name was. The thread used to boast that if you made posts starting at one and numbered them consecutively up through 20,000, you'd make 20k in the process.
To all you people rolling your eyes and saying that it's much faster to play Booty Grab, it is. This was back in, like, 2005 though. Posting and polling was the best way to make gold. ....And 20k was a good chunk of change. It could have bought.. umm.. maaaybe three sealed letters? Somewhere around there.
Anyway, I only joined the guild because it was an affiliate of PWU. I only posted 12 times.

Pocky Mountain
I was invited to join this guild by someone I drew art for. I joined because he was a nice guy. The people there seemed nice too. I was just too scared to post. The guild was small. x .x It's okay that it was small. It was just full of friends. I felt like I was walking in on some intimate conversation. Not only that, but half the people had 03 items on. These were the some of the popular people from the exchange forum. I hate to admit it, but I was intimidated. I've kept it on my list just because I didn't want to lose contact with that customer since he seemed like a nice person and knew a lot about Gaia.
The guild died back in 2006. In 2007 there was one post about how the guild was dead and there's some post in the intro thread from 2008.

The Blue Moon Cafe!
This started out as a guild full of people who were very into the zurg plot. It pretty much died with the zurg plot. Tokyo invited me and I joined because I wanted to get caught up on the nuances of the zurg plot. That year was very interactive. The plot changed daily. The admins/devs flew space ships around Towns, had a great following of users and wrote the events into the manga. It was a neat idea and can't be repeated. It was hard to keep up with the storyline that changed daily. (GCD saved me.) And there were fewer users. It'd be a total mess now. Anyway, this guild is dead and I never posted much in it anyway. I wanted to post in it to help TokyoSamurai out, but I never had time for it. Plus, I didn't really know the people or the zurg plot very well. ^^;; (Its name changed and it became a general discussion guild in their effort to revive it after the zurg plot ended.)
I made five posts.

Avatar Whores Anonymous
Seemed like a great guild full of great people. It just never made it past the start. It's centered around the AvA. It was for discussing the AvA and helping people out with their entries. I don't really pay much attention to the AvA, but I'd love to talk about avatars once again if it ever becomes active again. I've only made four posts. > < It felt like more.

Poll Whores Unite! ~A Discussion Poll Guild~
A polling guild from way back when polling was the only way to make gold. I modded it for a while, became a captain for a while, have become a mod again... The guild is dead. I lived too many of my Gaia years and moments there to let it go. To me, it's still the best guild on Gaia.

The TekTek Society
I received an invite back in August 2006. Mannnn, tektek has been around for a long time. This guild used to be active. @ .@ It died for a while, but has been pretty active again lately. I don't waste my time playing on tektek anymore, but I do like to dabble in it here and there. It's a nice guild because I do still like tekteking... it gives me an excuse to play on tektek.

[fashun]
Just got a random invite yesterday. It seems like a decent place. Their info seems like they regard high fashion to be any outfit that's both expensive and matching. That worries me. They seem pretty lenient though. And the people seem to be nice so far. It looks like a good guild. ^^

GGN Moderator's Guild
I received an invite many years ago when I was a mod of PWU. I liked the idea of it because I heard that there was a guild for Captains of guilds to give feedback, but I couldn't access it as a lowly mod. This is a good place to give feedback on issues concerning guilds. I haven't visited it in a while, but I keep telling myself that i need to. ^^;;;

The Newbie Supporting and Training Guild
I joined this guild recently when I was asked if I'd like to post my avi guide in its forums. It sounded like a good idea. Since then, I've realized that the guild isn't as active as I thought and it really didn't need a mini AMG guide. But oh well. It still is pretty active. And I like being able to answer questions that I know the answers to... so.. I don't mind this guild. :3 I'd probably post in it more if I had the time.

CGI - Complete Gaian Itemlist
A great info guild that contains a list of Gaia's items. It contains lists of all sorts of items. Very handy. I requested to join it just because I can't add it to my subscribed threads list. I'd like to help it out someday. But every time I think to see if they need any info or images, I can't help. They either have what they need or I don't have what they need.

Gaian Library
Karma's pet project from 2006. It looks like a snapshot in time of the guides from 2007. I hope she doesn't update it. It's neat to see what was important back then. It contains part of the AMG. I don't know why she only posted like half the posts.

Most of the journals will log the big updates and feelings of the times. I plan to look back on these in the future. Some large change affecting our lives now usually often turns into something we rarely think about.
