The boy was slowly getting to his feet. He was dirty and swayed with exhaustion, but the look in his eyes was terrifying. These strangers were different than the soldiers. They wore strange clothing and few had weapons. But the voice in his head urged him forward, so he started moving towards them.
"Hey there. What's your name?"
The child stopped, puzzled by the simple question. For a moment, he was himself again. "... I-I... I am..."
Intruders are not welcome. Protect the village.
The voice was back in control and the boy launched himself at the nearest person. But unlike before, his newfound strength failed him. The man who'd asked his name and another held him so that it would be difficult to harm anyone.
"What's wrong with him, Ren?"
"Get back! He's possessed!"
A hand covered his face and the boy let out a scream before the world faded away...
