Life is just a game you play. Only in the sense that you have 1 life, no cheats, and your luck is usually on the negative side of the scale.
Colony Domus: Our First and Last

A frantic female’s voice bursts to life through the static of the speakers. “H-Hello?! This is the colony of Domus on the planet Vitorcine. We are in serious trouble here! Requesting backup immediately! The um…uhh…’projects’ have gotten loose and are uhm…tearing everything apart. It appears that we have been fooled the entire time; their intelligence is on par with ours it seems. They were playing dumb until they could all escape… Now they are freeing the others and wrecking the hell out of this place. We-“Muffled thuds and shouts in background. Gunshots are heard mixed with indescribable noises. “The main staff and several guards are barricaded in the control room here, but they’ve found us already. They really are quite adept….amazing creatures. It’s a shame they are so aggressive. We could have made much further progress with them…I- I suppose this is what we get for playing at God.” Gunshots and yelling increases, the sound of tearing metal is heard along with what sound like animal screeches.”I realize that this call won’t be answered in time…if ever. Our orders and yours were very clear on this subject…” Everything goes silent for a few moments, only a woman’s gentle sobs could be heard. Her voice was getting more hysteric. “When your men get here, and there had better be alot…have them re-activate the colony’s AI system. She will be their key to survival…Oh God they’re just staring at me!” More silence, followed by sharp clicks getting louder as something approached the radio and the woman’s terrified whimpering. A feral snarl and the smashing of metal indicate the radio’s destruction::

The Story Thus Far:

It Is now the year 3000, the start of a brand new millennium. The people on planet Earth rejoice and celebrate as plans much bigger than them are set into motion by their governments. Government-Convenient space travel was achieved in 2112, and since then almost perfected. In the year 2240, the planet Vitorcine was discovered nestled just outside our solar system, not a carbon copy of Earth, it was slightly smaller and as a result, had slightly lighter gravity. It already had a viable atmosphere, but not much else. Such a planet was an irresistible prize for the people of Earth, now formed under a single government with their advancement into space. The only thought on their mind was expansion. Over the course of about 700 years, after three times nearly destroying it, we had successfully terra-formed our first planet and deployed a colony, dubbed Secundus Domus or “Second Home” in Latin.

In no time, a dozen or so sub-colonies had branched out over the planet, but Domus remained the epicenter of activity. The greedy humans had discovered a vexing material on this planet, one of the by-products of their terra-forming methods, that held some promise in genetic advancement. Henceforth Domus became a scientific citadel for many wonders…and horrors. The science of making Human-Animal hybrids had been and would remain a failure in human history, but with the advent of the genetic-molding material, Eco, they found the process could be fulfilled in reverse: Animal-Human hybrids.

The outcome has become apparent. Refusing to abandon centuries of work, the Earth people have dispatched a crew to assess the damage, and restore at least Domus to operational capacity. More orders are to follow…

The Crew:

The vessel, Savior, has been jam-packed with an assortment of mechanics, medics, scientists, and armored personnel both Human and Cyber. Already having weathered successive revolts and wars involving Cybernetically Modified Humans, the Earth people have it down to an art form. Various enhancements are available to the public for the right price, while the Government offers reduced prices and more varied options for those in the military, such enhancements usually come with a lengthy period of service attached, with removal of said enhancements at the end of the term. As a result, any black-market operations that were able to crop up were brutally cut down due to the scarcity of any method to get the parts and tech. In the selection process for this mission, all applicants accepted had at least some form of combat experience or training.

Mechanics: Scientists with the affinity for the electrical and mechanical. Specializing in repairing or modifying even the most rudimentary of technology, a large number of these were assigned to the mission because A LOT of damage to the colony equipment was anticipated. Good for improvising on the spot, and handy in a pinch, the mechanics are very needed on this mission. Cybers in this position usually have built in tools such as saws, welders, and an assortment of Computer hacking and communications equipment specifically made for this mission.

Medics: Even with the last-recorded transmission, the Earth people have taken this aspect of the mission lightly, only sending along a handful of Medical personnel. The medics have access to all the latest technology and are quite amazing at their jobs whether human or Cyber. The only thing Cybers have over the human medics is many of their tools and equipment are attached to them and have a virtual dictionary for any assessment of illnesses and damage contained in their heads. Equipment for this job includes: Supply of medicines and drugs on hand, medical surgery tools, and slight regenerative enhancements.

Scientists: The few, the proud, the scientists. Information processing machines that seek to further the advancement of the human race. They were dispatched in numbers equal to the medics for their role was to deal with the colony, after, it was restored to functionality. Still, being in the positions they are, orders don’t mean much and chances are they’ll want to jump ship with the soldiers to collect data and whatnot. Cybers of this job have a wide array of skills applied to help gather and interpret data. No modifications to the brain were permitted for this job due to there already being a vast number of computers they could use for the same function without the risk of succumbing to interference out in the field. Various equipment for these studious people include; radar, infra-red sensors, vision enhancements, and an assortment of field-study tools each scientist can be expected to have on or in their person.

Soldiers: Though the Earth people downplayed the necessity for use of violent force, the Soldiers outnumber the other jobs by quite a bit. The Soldiers are versatile in their skills; able to grasp rudimentary principles of any other person’s job on the ship, but the only job they have specialized in is the art of combat. Standard equipment of the Soldiers include: .45 handgun, the RD- Assault rifle, carbon fiber enforced armor, helmet with HUD system, combat knife. Cybers in the military have most of this equipment either attached onto, or built in them. Cyber enhancements to the average Soldier include: Vision increase, Stamina increase, Shock-touch, “Under Armor Skin Plating”, complete loss of human limbs for entirely cybernetic ones.

The Experiments:
The Experiments are, in general, animals crossed with humans from embryo-stage development. They can be crossed with up to two species of animal and most retain a somewhat-humanoid body. Being predominantly animal, the features of their father-species will be very obvious as well as any traits that species has. (i.e- snake venom, claws, fur, tails, senses etc…)

Preliminary scans of the planet indicate two classes of experiment, after which sub-categories broaden immensely.

The Wilders: The bulk of the experiment masses. They are very aggressive and have intelligence slightly above that of chimpanzees. Depending on their father-species, these experiments can behave under hive-mind, pack, and alpha-male/female mentalities. Many are small, roaming packs that attack anything and everything but their own, while others have rooted out small places to live and are expanding, the most notable of these being the Hive-Minded experiments which have the largest homes above and below ground. **Kill on Sight**

Amosi: (meaning ‘alike’) these are experiments that, until closer observation and data are obtained, are in question. Aerial scans show that they are possibly the ‘more human’ experiments. Data is scarce, because these experiments are rarely seen out and about the surface. They appear to be far more intelligent than the Wilders and speculation has been broached as to whether or not we approach this species as ‘sentient’. They appear every bit as animalistic as their ‘cousins’ and retain the same traits, but more data is needed to confirm details. **Observe with caution, Kill if attacked**
