Rina was driving the red BMW convertible while Adin sat in the front and Sam, Mary, and I sat in the back. Matthias was flying to our destination; he said he would met us there. Lilith was already waiting for us. I looked at my plaid JanSport backpack and sighed.
"You guys ready?" I asked.
"I guess. We've been waiting long enough," said Mary.
"Stop thinking negatively. I KNOW you are all ready for school," said Rina.
"Easy for you to say," protested Adin. "You went before you were a vampire!"
"At least I don't have anything to worry about," said Sam. We said nothing.
Soon, we arrived at Golden Gate Middle School. Lilith saw us and ran, at human speed, towards the car. We all got out. Then Matthias appeared from around the corner. As soon as he got to us, we walked to the school.
"Bye!" said Rina. We waved. Everyone was staring. Lilith's hair was straight, and mine was loosely curled form this morning, so maybe no one would notice right away that we were twins. A boy who was taller than me by 2 inches cautiously approached us. Me, specifically.
"Uh...hi," he said to me. "My name is Spencer. What's yours?"
"Taylor," I responded.
"Oh. Cool."
"And this is Matthias, Sam, Lilith, Mary, and Adin." I said. Just then the bell rang. Only Mary had the same homeroom as me so she walked beside me as the others took off.
"So, who's homeroom are you in?" asked Spencer.
"Um..." I tried to remember. "Mr.Kim."
"Really? Me too!" he seemed quite excited about this. We reached the classroom and as we walked in, I could smell human blood everywhere. It didn't bother me that much though. I looked over at Mary and she seemed pretty okay. I mean, we live in San Francisco! There were people everywhere! I sat down at a desk, with Mary to my left and Spencer to my right. I scoped the room. I could tell none of them were vampires or werewolves. I was sitting in the second row, and in front of me was a blonde girl with black highlights, and to her right was a brunette boy, probably her boyfriend, considering they were passing notes with hearts on them.
Mr.Kim started taking attendance, and out of the corner of my eye, Spencer was staring at me. In fact, a lot of boys were staring at Mary and me. Probably because we were made to attract humans with out personality, our looks, everything. Usually it was interesting to get so much attention, but it got annoying sometimes. This was going to be a loooong day.
