I stepped outside and felt the blazing heat of the sun on my cheeks I walked along the deck with my father and brother, they introduced me to the first mate who was leaning on the rail by the mainmast. My father stepped up to him and shook his hand.
"Oh Hello Anthony, how can I help you." the man spoke with a most disturbingly friendly grin on his face.
"Mr.Giocondo, I would like to to introduce you to a new member of the team, my son"
"Ahh you must must be Ryuga, Anthony speaks quite highly of you, I can see why."
I felt the sun get hotter with each passing second, I looked at my father then back at the Mr.Giocondo. "I appreciate the warm welcome monsieur"
"Any time ragazzo just come and see me if you have trouble with anything"
I nodded my head "thank you sir" I said squinting my eyes for the suns blinding light.
my father tapped my shoulder and took me up to the stern, where I got an overview look at everything that was going on down on deck. men were lifting merchandise from room to room, the captain was calling out orders, I could see the sails rustling at he winds howling gusts.
"Ryuga" my father said to me slowly, "I want you to understand that things have changed and are changing rapidly."
"Father I -"
"No, listen my son Dark skies are rising over Venencia and time is running out I need you to stay focused these next few days as we sail for San Giminiano."
"San Giminiano, I though Dante said we were going to Firenze"
"So he though but it seems that the we have been re-routed to a small town in the Tuscan districts. we currently have a base of operations there, a safe house if that seems simpler to you. I will explain more when we get there and then we can begin your training."
"Training!?" I said surprisingly.
"Yes, if you want to be prepared in combat you'll have to learn the skills necessary skills needed in battle."
"Battle!" I said even more surprised than before.
"Yes me son!" My father said gripping his hands on my shoulders. "These are dark times we live in when we are forced to stand and fight against them."
"Who is them! no one has said a thing to me about them I am no longer waiting for an answer father, I wish to know now who is our threat."
"They have been around for centuries. Like us they share a common goal."
"Then why a fight, why are they our enemies if they share a goal with us?"
"Just because two share one thing dose not mean they will use it for the same purpose Ryuga."
"Spare me the lecture father per favore"
"Bene, then listen to me. these men are evil, deceiving creatures. although there goal is to ensure peace in everything. they are willing to rob the people of there free will in the process, to force it upon us. they are known as the Templar's
I stood there trying to make out the words my father had just spoke but I couldn't bring myself to understand this term. Templar's my father said they share a common goal but they intend to force it upon us instead of allowing us to embrace the concept ourselves. this much I could understand but I was still puzzling at reasons for such treachery. Nevertheless, It all made sense to me. The war, the Assassins, the Templar's I told myself that this wasn't going to be easy, but I knew what I had to do now I was born to become an assassin and that my father and brother are only few of many others who share our cause and goal with us I felt illuminated like there was reason for this once again. for once in a long time I was ready to take on the role.
"Well my son I will take you to your room we have a long day tomorrow."
"Va bene` I'm glade that I'm here father I think I now understand although I'm not so sure I have what it takes yet."
"In time my son, in time.."
It was night now father had taken my down to the forecastle were he showed me my room, It was wide on all sides with plenty of space. and the walls were water washed with brownish gray. in the room stood the basics. a bed, and a nightstand.
"All you shall need now is what is given to you" my father said "you will soon come to realize the use for everything else in here.."
He took a step back into the hall. I turned around and gave him a hug and he patted me on the back.
"Rest up mio figlio tomorrow we start a long and venturous journey"
"Thank you Padre" I said stepping back into my room.
"Goodnight Ryuga"
"Goodnight.." I said shutting the door. I rested in my bed for quite some time but then later in the night It was as if l'inferno broke loose. There was a loud and vicious crash against the side of the ship and I heard a voice screaming down the hall.
"Get your Arses up to the mainmast, Il Falco is under attack!!"
