A young actor whose performances have earned praise from critics and audiences alike, Chad Michael Murray is a talent on the rise. Murray is currently starring as the lead on The WB's hit drama, One Tree Hill. Murray stars as Lucas Scott, a brooding intellectual whose skills on the basketball court are matched only by his growing attraction to the beautiful girlfriend of his half-brother.
Murray's previous television roles included playing the love interest for Katie Holmes and Michelle Williams on Dawson's Creek and Rory's overconfident classmate on Gilmore Girls. Other television credits include Aftermath with Meredith Baxter Birney and Robert Ulrich, and the title role in The WB's The Lone Ranger.
He will star as the lead in Joel Silver's House Of Wax, opposite Elisha Cuthbert, currently in production. He recently co-starred in the critically acclaimed remake of Freaky Friday opposite Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan.
Murray was born and raised in Buffalo, New York where he also attended college on scholarship. He currently lives in Los Angeles. He is an anti-drug role model for kids and is active in charities for children and teens.

After several guest spots on the show, he joined the cast of the extremely popular Dawson's Creek in the fall of 2001, playing Charlie Todd.
His other television credits include the CBS movie-of-the-week Aftermath, guest starring roles on the series CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and Diagnosis Murder, and television pilots Murphy's Dozen and No Ordinary Girl. He also appeared in the American Movie Classics documentary The Making of A Film Star.
This spring, Murray appeared in the title role of The Lone Ranger on the WB television network. He has also appeared in the feature film Megiddo: Omega Code 2.
In 2002, Teen People Magazine named Murray one of the 10 Hottest Guys in TV.
He began shooting The Cinderella Story this summer with Hilary Duffat Warner Brothers. He will also begin shooting his series One Tree Hill in mid-August for the WB.
A former athlete, Murray enjoys football, hockey, soccer, volleyball, and basketball. He is involved with anti-drug, children's and teen's charities. A native of Buffalo, New York (and huge Buffalo Bills football fan), Murray recently purchased his first home in Los Angeles where he lives with his cat, Jack and his dog, Joe.
