i plan to write about random things.
Okay so,
It's July 24 2010,
and I am miserably awaiting my birthday.
I don't want to be a year older.
I just finished drawing my first second
picture of Light and Lawliet.
It's a picture of them sitting underneath the stars.
Originally,
I was planning for it to be just Lawliet,
with a 'ghosty' image of Light next to him,
being his imagination.
But that was freaking hard to do,
so I just added Light.
I based the picture from the song,
"Vanilla Twilight' by Owl City.
Especailly the part,
"Cause cold nostalgia chills me to the bone.
But drenched in vanilla twilight,
I'll sit on the front porch all night,
waist-deep in thought,
because when I think of you,
I don't feel so alone."
Ha ha.
I think this song is inspiring me to do something more.
A fanfiction, possibly?
Hmm...

Okay.
I'll try it, right here, right now!

ONE

"Yeah, he's next."
Muttered Kaniko, the angel of death, pointing at Light Yagami.
"Finally,"
Sighed his companion, Hanrishio, and crossed his arms.
"Three... two.."
Kaniko whispered, in his raspy, old voice, counting down Light Yagami's final moments.

L Lawliet sat in his chair,
staring outside from the window.
What he saw was his place after death.
Not exactly Heaven, but definetly not Hell.
It was like the world he'd lived in before he died,
only a bit nicer.
He lived alone in a plain, and simple house.
Watari lived next door with his wife and kids,
but visited Lawliet every chance he had.

"Hmm.."
Lawliet thought out loud, wondering what all the people were leaving their houses for. He tilted his head to one side, and watched a lady get in her car and speed down the main street.

He decided to ask someone else what was going on, not feeling up to find out on his own.

He picked up his phone, which was sitting on a plain white night table beside him.

He pressed '2', because he had Watari first on his speed dial.

"Hello, Ryuzaki-san."
came the familiar reply.

"Watari, what is going on? People are scrambling away as if a monster
were chasing them." he asked, watching another man bike down the road.

"A new death. Everyone is exited. I'm not enitirely sure who it is, but
I've heard it was a murderer. One of your cases, actually."

The first thing to shoot through his mind was Beyond Birthday, he gasped and questioned Watari.

"Are you planning on going downtown?"

"No, I am joining my extended family on an outing."

"Oh, alright."

"Would you like to join me, Ryuzaki-san? You were my only family for years and years."

"No thanks, Watari. I think I'll go check it out down there."

"Alright. Farewell, Ryuzaki-san"

"Yes, good-bye, Watari, thanks for your time."

"No problem." Watari said, and hung-up his cell phone.

Lawliet lazily dragged himself out of his chair, picking up his keys from
the hook in the kitchen. He walked outside bare-foot, not having to worry about sharp rocks, or broken glass and what-not.

He trudged towards his white car.
Why is everything white? He asked himself.
He put his seatbelt on slowly.
He hated driving.
He had to sit normally,
feeling unsure about everything, since apparantly,
his reasoning abilities dropped by 40%.

He frowned as he sat uncomfortably in his seat,
starting the car.
He drove slowly down the main street.
'Oh god, I feel so stupid."
He said out loud, with an intense expression on his face.

Soon, he arrived at the huge crowd.
He parked his car nearly half a block away,
and walked into the crowd.

They were ranting on the person, whoever the poor b*****d was.
Lawliet was curious as to who it was,
not thinking Beyond Birthday would let this continue.
He wormed his way through the people,
which was surprisingly easy.

He came to the centre of it all,
the closest people screaming curses,
and kicking the man on the ground.
Lawliet leaned in a bit closer,
trying to see the mans face.

"You killed my brother, you b*****d!"
Lawliet heard from the man next to him.

"Move!" Someone shouted from behind him, and shoved Lawliet hard, causing him to lose balance and topple onto his hands and knees.

He decided that this was an advantage,
and crawled over to the man who was being beaten.

Lawliet looked at the mans hair, and immeadietly knew who it was.

The man had chestnut-brown hair,
fairly straight, but at the same time, messy.

"Light Yagami." he whispered.

He stood up, turning toward the angry crowd.
"Stop! He's with me!"

Most of them stopped, except for a few men,
who continued to kick at Light.

"Stop it!" Lawliet cried in their faces,
and they did stop.
Why?
It's because everyone arond there knew that Lawliet was powerful,
and could ruin your life.

Lawliet looked down at Light,
and Light gave him a pleading look.
Light braced himself for the worst beating since e had arrived here in...
Wherever they were.

Lawliet stuck out his hand,
offering to help Light back onto his feet.

Light layed on the ground for a moment,
his eyes squeezed shut.
A moment later, he relised he wasn't being kicked.
He opened his eyes, and saw a hand being stretched out to him.

He grabbed the hand, and was painfully pulled back onto his feet.

The crowd watched quietly, wonder what the hell was going on.

"Ryuzaki.." He breathed in to raven's face.

"Lawliet. My name is Lawliet."

Light nodded, and then he winced.
Everything hurt.
EVERYTHING.

Including his heart, which was accepting Lawliet's act of kindness oddly.
He was so confused.

"Why aren't you beating me?"

"I don't see the need to."

Lawliet answered and led Light away from the withering crowd.

Once they were at least 6 feet away from the crowd,
they relised they were still holding hands.

Lawliet gasped and ripped his hand from Light's,
holding it to his chest.

Light couldn't help but laugh at Lawliet's actions.

Both men turn dark pink, and Light coughed.

*Awkward*

"..."

"...."

"Well, it's weirdly nice seeing you here, Light-kun"

"Umm... Thanks...?
It's nice to see you, Ryu- Lawliet."

"Light-kun, I want to start over with you.
I want for us to be friends in this life.
What do you think?"

"Umm...."

"If you don't want to be,
I'll leave you alone."

"No, it's just..."

"..?
What is it?"

"Why don't you hate me, Ryuzaki?"

"Like I said, I want for us to be friends.
I have let go of the past,
I do go by the saying, 'Forgive and forget'"

"Yeah, I'd like that. I'm sorry I killed you."

"Technically, you didn't."

"But if it weren't for me, you'd still be alive."

"..."

Lawliet turned towards his car.

"Would you care to join me for lunch, Light-kun?"

"Err.... Yeah, I would, actually.."

Both men got into Lawliet's car,
but before they did, Lawliet asked Light something.
"Light-kun, Could you drive?"

"Not really..." he responded, and Lawliet nodded.

"I understand."

Light sat, wincing still. He was badly bruised, and had gotten a black eye.

"Were going to that white house there." Lawliet said, pointing to his home.

End of chapter one.
