Arnath's Journal
Chapter 3 - Passing
Time passed as the young boy struggled to survive within the Wakeless Forest. He remembered seeing the blacksmith practicing with his weaponry in spars to test their durability. Arnath trained himself, mimicking his teachers movements and using the skill to his advantage. Five years went by and as the boy grew, so did his curiosity. Arnath meandered around the forest, as he became more aware, learning of his surrounding terrain.

As days passed, Arnath grew tired of his loneliness, despite his hatred of people. He had decided to return to the marketplace in Yuriko.

"Well, its a better sale here than the other fruit stand across the way," a man said, before he cupped his hand around his mouth. "But dont tell anyn I said so. Might spoil his sales." Arnath glanced around at the familiar setting.

A hand grasped at Arnaths shoulder. "You shouldnt be out here, boy," the man said. Arnath turned to see who held him. A man of fairly dominating height towered over him, overlooking the boy and his surroundings. His eyes, serpentine towards the middles, holding sapphire edges, peered into those of Arnath. Fairly long, divided hairs, platinum in colour flowed down his back. Under a lengthy coal-coloured trench coat, moderate armor covered his body, heavy metal platemail extending over the shoulder area. He held a longsword at his side with a steady uncovered hand.

"Who are you?" Arnath asked, slightly intimidated by the man. Regardless, he somehow felt a sense of familiarity, which urged his next question. "Ive seen you before, havent I?"

The man smiled a bit. "Indeed you have," he said. "What a brilliant memory."

Arnath shrugged slightly. "Not brilliant, as I cant tell you where Ive seen you before."

Smiling again, the man took a step forward. "Would you care to travel at my side? As I said, you shouldnt be out here." Arnath tilted his head toward him. "Someone might recognize you."

"Sure," Arnath said, feeling that the man was trustworthy.

The man began walking down the street, as Arnath soon followed closely. The merchants and townsfolk continued with their business, stepping around them. "My name is Sephiroth," the man stated.

"Arnath."

"You know," Sephiroth said, "I once knew your father."
