I walk a road that is guided by something.
I can't put my finger on what.
My feet and legs are helpless.
They walk without hesitating.

The road is both beautiful and treacherous.
It smells of sweet roses and rancid roadkill.
The path is worn but well taken care of.
I believe nature is mostly to blame.

So many days and nights
I've travelled this road.
It seems like forever
in my mind at least.

Hundreds of stories to tell.
Stories that are no good in books.
Stories no one could understand.
Some not even I can.

At times I hate the road.
I wish at times I took another.
But the road is not deserving of hate.
It is I who chose it; not otherwise.

Wishing another road is too much to bear.
Thinking of not seeing the things i saw
Is enough to make a grown man cry.
I'll never renounce my road again.

But still; what moves the legs and feet?
I think i know but will not tell.
No one else will understand.
Pointless to tell a soul;save for one.

There are times in life you are forced to choose.
Right or left; sometimes it's many paths.
Each path marks the continuation of a road.
But only one is my road.

My legs and feet walk on.
I now know for sure what moves them.
I don't know where I'll end up.
But I won't be alone.

I take great comfort in choosing the road most traveled.
No one else travels it but me.
Only I walk it.
But yet I'm not alone.

Never Am I Alone.
