Helpful Tips

Profile Play List
For Classic Profiles:
1. Go to Profile Option under your Account Settings drop down list.
3. Copy and paste play list code where it says "Link to SWF file"

For Current Profiles:
1. Got to your profile.
2. Select "Edit My Profile Layout" button in top right hand corner of profile.
3. Select Content on the profile menu bar.
4. Click "Media" on content list.
5. Click "Edit" on the media box.
6. Paste Play List Code and submit.
7. Click Save and View on the profile menu bar.

Changing Your Username
1. Go to Preferences in your Account Settings (just click the gear).
2. Input the wanted name in the "Change Username" box.
3. Put your password in the "Current Password" box.
4. Scroll down and click the "Save All Changes" button.

NOTE: You get to change your username two times for free. After the second time you will be forced to pay for changing the name, and each time after that the price to change your name will increase. Also, you should check the availability of the name you want. You can check by going to the Community Page and do a member search on the name you want.

Changing Your Gender
1. Go to Skin Tyte.
2. Purchase the Gender Bender potion.
3. Go to your inventory and click the special tab.
4. Click the potion and use item.

NOTE: The potions are currently being sold for 50,000 gold. However, you can get your first two gender bender potions for free by going to your account settings.

Changing E-Mail
1. Go to Preferences in your Account Settings (just click the gear).
2. Click "Change your E-mail?" under the E-Mail field.
3. Input your new E-mail address and password in.
4. Click "Change"
5. An e-mail will be sent to your new E-mail address, go to your new E-mail account, click on the e-mail from gaia, and click the link to activate your new e-mail.

NOTE: It is really important to activate the new e-mail change. If you don't then you won't be able to get important messages from gaia. You will need it to verify the changing of your password, and you also need it to file hacking reports as well as filing General Account Inquiries.

Items are Frozen/Soul bound
Using Gaia Cash
If you buy gaia cash through the site using a credit card for the first time all the items that you purchase using that cash will be frozen for seven business days.

Aquarium & Fish
Your overseer, aquarium tank, and the fish you start out with will be frozen/soul bound forever. If you see an overseer or a fish tank on the MP it is because of a glitch for when the aquarium first came out.

zOMG Rings
As of December 8th, 2008 all zOMG Rings were soul bound. The rings you find on the market place are the rings that were not equipped before the soul bounding took place. If you buy a zOMG ring from the MP the moment you equip it is the moment that ring will become soul bound.

If You Have Been Hacked
If your account has been hacked then this is what you should do:
1. If the hacker changed your password, you can attempt to knock them out of your account, and change your password by using the "Forgot Password" option at the log in page.
2. File a hacking report, only one report, and you must be the one to file it. If you can't gain access your account then you need to make a new account to file a hacking report.
3. PM a Site Moderator to disable your trading pass.
4. Wait patiently until you receive a PM regarding your hacking report.

NOTE: A hacking report must be filed within 30 days of the incident.

If You Have Been Banned
If you have been banned:
1. Check your e-mail account to see if you have an e-mail regarding why you were banned.
2. If there is no e-mail, then you can PM a Site moderator and ask why you were banned.

Contacting a Moderator
You should only contact a moderator when something needs a moderators attention. Questions such as how to put a play list on a profile (which I state how to do so at the beginning of the FAQs) or any other generic questions as such is best answered by the users in the Questions & Assistance Forum. If you need assistance that requires a moderator's attention then all you need to do is PM one. You can find a moderator by:
1. Go to any forum on the main forum listing.
2. At the top of the forum listing, next to the forum's name, there is a green link that says "View forum moderators"
3. From that list pick any Site Moderator and PM them.
4. Wait patiently until you receive a reply. Only send on PM to one moderator.
