Bittersweet

This place is so cold
And all I wish for is the warmth of your smile
So that I may feel at peace
Even if only for a little while
Your laugh is like the rain
In which I only wish to bathe
When your heart is filled with sorrow
I too can share your pain
When you are with me
Your voice is a song that fills my heart
When the distance divides us
It feels as if we're worlds apart
That's when I long for your touch
The caress of your skin against mine
For all your soft breaths
My name on your lips is like a lullabye
But alas I am here
Cursed to be without you
Nothing more than a shell of what I once was
With nothing to hold on to
As I fade away now
I hope that someday I just might
Remember your soft kiss in this darkness
For the shadows have overcome the light
I hope that wherever you are
That you are happy and well
While I lay here and rot
In my bittersweet hell
