Life as a Vet Assistant
After a long, busy day at work,
Full of ups and downs,
I am glad that I am able to
Come home and not frown
Death and disease is the norm
That I must deal with during my day
But smiles can still reach my face
When I come home to my cat and play
If it weren’t for his purrs
Along with his healthy, bright eyes
I wouldn’t know what I’d do
Each day as I watch someone cry
Despite everything that goes on,
Making me think that I’ll no longer sing,
I know that in my heart of hearts
That I wouldn’t change a thing.
