Salathielly's Commonplace Log
Update
My dad and I finally got the car title in my name. We had a problem with the license plates, though - the old ones didn't want to come off due to rusty screws, and when a couple of the screws broke, my dad had to screw new holes in my car to put my new plates on. Ah well. Then my parents and I went out to eat at a tasty Indian restaurant. I had delicious chicken curry, and my mom, who really doesn't like Indian food except for naan, enjoyed the butter chicken that I recommended. Then we went to the arts festival, listened to live music, and saw water fire (they lit fires on the Scioto River). It was pretty neat, especially since the moon was out. I'm pretty sure we could see Jupiter, too. On Sunday we had brunch with my grandparents and aunt, and then I drove back. Then, of course, back to work.

I've been enjoying reading Sayonara, Zetsubou-sensei. Some of it I just don't get due to obscure cultural references and whatnot, but the stuff I do get is pretty funny. Or maybe it just matches my odd sense of humor. I've also watched the first season of the anime and enjoyed it. I made my parents watch the "guilt complex" part because it's a family joke how much we (mostly my sister and I) apologize for everything. There's not a lot of character development, as each character is something of a one-dimensional joke or stereotype, but each chapter takes on a different issue and runs with it, usually to hilarious places.

I also decided to rewatch Gravitation because my friend Moo recently watched it and enjoyed it. I definitely don't object to relationships between two men, but...I dunno, I'm just not entirely sold on Shuichi and Yuki. Maybe because I find Shuichi kind of annoying and think Yuki is a little too cold. Still, to each his own. The music's still fun, and some of the side characters are interesting. I was fond of K this time around, and the president of the company was also kind of intriguing due to the complexity of his character. I still like the singer with the stuffed rabbit.

I just watched episode 12 of Kuroshitsuji II. I really don't know what to think of this series. And now...Ciel's a demon? Eh? It's kind of taken a weird turn. Several, really. I miss the zany side characters...
