this deserts so empty, when your not beside me to fill it up with roses
This desert is so dry when your not beside me to run the rivers
Like a horse with no mane theres nothing majestic about me
Like an open book everything you dont like is what you can see

The rivers through my body only carry dirt and ash
My heart only beats across this dry sand
Because you left me alone in this desert
Because i gave up everything to keep the shade on you cool

Because you thought i was an angel when i am a devil
Theres nothing to look forward past the flames of hell
when thats all there is left for me i carry this shovel
but how long, how long could i lie and say im well

If theres nothing bad about whats left buried in ashes
And theres nothing bad burning in the sun
Then i've done nothing wrong here today, but the angels brand me in patches
And all thats left to carry anymore is a single shot gun

It was never meant for you just me
Past the graveyard filled with memories theres nothing left to see
I could pull the trigger but im still left alone
I could die today, but still so much left undone

And theres still this desert so empty alone just like me
In what burns my feet today we're not so far apart
I can see the harder i held you the more it burned for you i couldnt see
