Liam muttered a 'very well' but before Harper had taken more than a few steps down the hallway, a voice piped up - a female voice. "Like hell I am going to follow that b***h's orders!" Harper froze. Before she could react Liam had already begun to back her up. Then continue to be as useless as the Prince that owns you. Though I'm sure that shouldn't be too difficult for you, Laurel. " He admonished before quietly dismissing himself from the scene. It had given Harper time to compose herself though. She spun on her heel to turn and face Laurel. Her face was severe. Harper walked forward and stepped in front of Laurel, only about a foot separating them. And then.. the unthinkable, "Laurel.." Harper smiled. A genuine, kindhearted smile. It was almost chilling though because of whom it was coming from. "May I remind you that if you neglect your duties then you will not be receiving your paycheck?" Harper chided in a sickeningly sweet tone. Partaking in this mission was non-negotiable. Especially for Laurel - Harper hated to admit it but she desperately needed her. She'd never gotten along particularly well with the abrasive purple warrior; however, without her power of teleportation if something were to go wrong then they would all be stuck in the Forbidden Forest or the Overlord's land with no way out. Of course, Harper didn't anticipate that to happen; however, as her mother always said, it was better to be safe than sorry. She knew that money was what made Laurel tick. Her father had had to raise the original paycheck of the warriors just to get Laurel to cooperate and agree to take on the responsibility. By using this against her, Harper knew that Laurel would cooperate - whether she liked it or not.
Harper stared into Laurel's eyes a moment, making sure she got the message before turning once again and walking in the same direction she had been previously. "Come, Caius." Harper said as she walked past him. She didn't bother to acknowledge him or turn her head to see Laurel again - she was back on her mission and wasn't about to look back and engage herself in another unpleasant situation. Majority of her anger had been spent on her brother and she didn't feel much like engaging in another argument - especially one that was completely unneccessary. So she remained dignified and calm, reguardless of how much she was seething on the inside just as mother would have wanted. Harper inwardly sighed to herself. It seemed that this mission might not be as pleasant as she thought.
[ TIME SKIP ]
Harper lead the way down to the carriages and then walked past them to what appeared to be a large barn. Harper opened the door to it and sure enough it was, indeed, a barn! Many different colored stallions whinnied as Harper and Caius walked down through the aisles. At the opposite end of the barn were piles of hay and a step-ladder. Harper stopped when she got in front of it and looked up to where a small trapdoor to the hay-loft was. There was a drawstring hanging down from it. Harper looked at Caius. "It's been a while so I wouldn't blame you if you don't remember but up there is where all the weaponry is. I'll go up and fetch us the supplies - swords, shields, backpacks, and so on. I'll toss them to you though. Just lay them out on the ground in piles so their easy to find in the morning." Harper didn't wait for a reply - she quickly made her way up the ladder and to the hayloft. Up top isn't your typical hayloft. Sure there is hay but there is also a pile of assorted weaponry and other supplies towards the far side of the room. Harper made her way over to it, rolled up her sleeves, and began sorting through things, metal clanging together as she did so.
She began to think and before long she absent-mindedly began to think aloud, breaking the otherwise silence. "I can't believe that stupid Laurel. Where does she get off calling me that foul name? Let alone not agreeing to assist in the mission! Doesn't she realize what peril we all could be in? Honestly..Here." Harper muttered to herself before hoisting over a few swords (in sheaths) over the ledge, assuming Caius was there to catch them. She went back to sorting through things, continuing to partake in idle small talk while doing so. "I mean, don't you just find it astonishing?! Not just Laurel, but this whole thing. Dwight just never ceases to amaze me. Incoming!" Harper shook her head as she lifted a heavy bundle of shields and tossed them over towards Caius before heading back. "You know it's not even just Dwight.. it's my whole family. The lot of them. Their all just so.... SO!-" Harper didn't bother giving notice as she tossed a pile of backpacks (all with supplies in them, i.e. flashlights, compasses, etc.) over the ledge - not bothering to look down and see if he caught it, once again. "Aggravating." Harper brushed her hands which were all dusty and dirty now from picking up the material which was hardly ever used (considering Dwight hardly practiced his swordsmanship since he was so lazy and the fact that the kingdom hadn't been in war for centuries!).
Harper looked around for any other useful materials; however, she found none. "Anyways.. I think that's it. You doing okay down there?" Harper peered over the ledge to see how Caius was holding up.
(( OOC: I can definitely foresee a tension between Laurel and Harper during this mission, lol. Especially since their the only two females on Team Offense. Their most certainly going to be butting heads. xD I think Zen should add them as "enemies/rivals" under the relationships section, lul. I think we can expect two more posts from Harper before she heads off to bed btw. ;o Cus she still needs to have her 'talk' with Caius (which he should ask her about since she may have forgotten *cough*) ... xD ))
●Mood: Methodical ●Location: Meeting Room of Dwight's castle ●Outfit: What she's wearing in her pic.
