The Lent holiday will soon be upon us. Today is the day pancakes were traditional eaten on in order to use up the supplies that were traditional not used during the fasting of lent. Here are some superstitions placed upon this day.
That which is sown today will always continue green. Eating pancakes today and gray peas tomorrow will mean you will have money all year round. Drinking milk today will mean you will not get a sunburn this summer. Eating pancakes today will rid your house of roaches, bugs, and vermin. If after sunrise today you thrash in your sleep you will drive the moles away. If a women sews today her hens won't lay eggs and snakes will visit the house in spring and summer.
