A Touch of History
This will mostly contain history stuff.
* Libyan Government forces massacred demonstrators in Az Zawia, but the city still holds out. news teams trying to cover events there have been detained and beaten. They continue to fire on Ambulances and children.

* In Idaho, Unions have lost their rights. In Indiana, the democrats have fled as they did in Wisconsin to prevent a vote stripping away rights. There are big Demonstrations in Michigan against the proposed law allowing the governor to dissolve local governments and hand them over to corporations.

* Why is it that contracts are sacred when they protect huge bonuses for the rich, but the contracts that protect the pension and benefits of people who agreed for lower pay in exchange for them? It seems to me a pretty big double standard.

* Someone decided to celebrate International Women's Day by going on the BPAL board to complain about the women in the feminism thread refusing to give in to his manslaining that really men are as oppressed as women in western culture. *facepalm*

* Il_volpe explains the purpose of hate crimes legislation: http://il-volpe.livejournal.com/16725.html?mode=reply&style=mine

* For those of you worried about Squirrel, here are the details: http://squirrelmh.livejournal.com/18305.html?mode=reply&style=mine
