WARNING! This post has SPOILERS and SPECULATION though I've been told that Moffat had admitted to this being true so my theory is now a fact. You have been warnned.



I have a theory... On when the switch could have been made. I'm thinking it had to of been made in between the Impossible Astronaut and the Day of the Moon. Here is my reasoning. The end of Impossible Astronaut is when she tells the Doctor she is pregnant, yes? And the beginning of the Day of the Moon is three months after that point. The Doctor questions her pregnancy before they go into the orphanage, before Amy is 'taken'. But I don't think she was taken at all. The Doctor uses the Sonic Screwdriver to get into the door yes? And if Amy was already flesh then she would have melted and therefore the recorder would have been left behind. And if the Flesh and Amy were linked then its no wonder it would be recording her thoughts. And then another Flesh Amy would have been made which explains what she wasn't remembering. Because she would have had no memory.

This thoery has one problem... The Doctor uses the sonic around her other times and she hadn't melted. Eh it's a work in progress...
