It was getting late, the killer needed to get a death in soon, or he might just make a mistake. He stared into his desk lamp, hoping for even an inkling of something. The dimmed light coming from the lamp gave him a wicked idea.
“Well then,” he said. “God said ‘Let there be light’.” He smiled a twisted smile before he bent down and his hand went to work.
The name scrawled out on the paper made his smile deepen as he jumped up and ran upstairs to the roof to watch the show. Just as he settled himself down on the roof ledge, he the world went silent for a split second. A huge gust of wind blew him back a little, but not enough to knock him back onto the roof. His smiled deepened even more, into something terribly inhuman.
He spoke against the deafening wind “And the show begins.”
A second later a HUGE explosion engulfs a small area in down town that lit up the whole city. The killer laughed out loud to the chaos, but was not heard over the sound of the explosion and the mass amount of screaming. Fire trucks and ambulances could be heard in the distance, rushing to the scene.
“It’s no use, she’s long gone now,” the killer whispered to himself, quite gleeful with the mass destruction he had caused.
In the other part of town:
The explosion could be seen for miles. People stepped out of their houses just as the warm air drifted by them. All that could be seen were smoke and flames. The smell of the burning building burned the nostrils with every breath. The fire trucks rushed to the scene and started hosing down the fire, not making much headway. The house that exploded was too engulfed in the mass to even consider going in looking for survivors. They knew full well, there weren’t any.
It took 3 hours before the flames finally died down enough to investigate the charred, skeletal remains of the building. Ten fire fighters rushed in and ten minutes later, the burnt body of IDK my BFF Voldie was carried out from the ashes, the only thing identifiable was her wide, yellowish cat-like eyes that made her unique. A lightly flame-licked note was attached to her chest by a small safety pin that pierced her skin. One of her friends came up to identify the body as they detached the note that read: “I wish you would all would listen to me. There’s nothing more irritating than pawns that won’t listen.”
The killer pushed his way to the front of the crowd just in time to watch the friend drop to her knees and scream at the gore stricken sight. His internal happiness was brighter than the flames that engulfed this area just a short time before.
