Salathielly's Commonplace Log
KaffeeHaus
I'm trying to patronize the local coffee shop despite my utter lack of funds, even though they're...a little on the inefficient side. One of my coworkers at the library also works there, and she still doesn't seem to have a grasp of making the drinks or operating the register, which is likely not her fault. I doubt she's worked enough hours to learn how to make everything, and she's probably doing better than I would. And the couple that are running it are nice, but most of the times I've gone in there they've had their kids in there with them, which seems to be rather rough on the kids and rather stressful for the parents. I hope it lasts...their aachen mokka is rather tasty, as are their pastries.

I did reference/tech services stuff at work. Linda sorted through the potential teen non-fiction books I had pulled last week, though I was a bit surprised at some of her selections/omissions. And now they've been relabeled and placed on the teen shelf. Sadly, right now the non-fiction books outnumber the fiction books in our minuscule teen section. Most of us complain that the teen books have to be separate from the YA books per the children's librarian and think that it's rather silly. I kind of see her point, but still, it is rather ridiculous. Also sad is our lack of manga and comic books. I probably ought to donate some of my manga, but I don't know if I can part with it. I'm selfish when it comes to my book collection...
