Welp. Im writing a book.
Here is chapter one! Please let me know if anything didnt make sense or was off on grammer or spelling :3 THANKS! (I still honestly cant believe I wrote all of that!) STAY TUNED FOR CHAPTER 2! (Chapter two will also explain the concept of chips)

Anna looked around her. The world looked, strange. Different from when she woke up, but the same as when she was asleep (Is how she would describe it if she had to put it in words). "Strange..." She muttered as she looked a flower that was resting lightly on it's stem. Thats when she heard the first shot. Her head spun around. She scanned the area for any sign of threat, but to no avail could she see any. "Is it strange that I am disappointed?" She asked herself with a small smirk before hearing footsteps. She looked in front of her to see a tall, lean shadow. With out hesitation or word she raced into the bushes, not daring to stop her running. Her speed was the only thing on her side. As she ran she looked around, searching for a place of solace, the safe spot she knew was there. She knew that it was set up for the hunter chips, but she would do anything to survive at this point.
That is when she spotted a wooded area. Her face lit up as she ran for it, not caring to look around. "This has to be it!" She thought aloud to herself with a smile as she broke through the branches. She stopped the moment the trees were out of her face. She looked around, heart pounding in her chest, not believing what she had found. It was a small clearing, completely black except for the neon glowing plants scattered around the room. She began to walk up to one of the many glowing flowers and noticed her feet were soaked. She looked down, barely able to make out a puddle. “It must cover the whole room.” She quietly thought aloud. She slipped her wet shoes off and strung them up on her bag. When her foot met the puddle’s soft ground she noticed it felt like placing your feet in a hot spring with the sand of the ocean floor.
That’s when it hit her, “This is a dream….” She couldn’t believe the realization of this, that this whole area was a dream. Did she make it? Where is her body? Her head instantly filled with so many questions, strangely enough one being “Why are my feet so sore?” She laughed a bit at the irrelevance of the thought; the room seemed to be laughing with her, getting brighter with every giggle. She burst out in laughter, realizing almost instantly that laughter could help her see the room better. Once she could see she noticed she was in a small cave with another exit opposite to that of the trees. This exit looked like the mouth of a cave, just covered in vines as though it was dead set on keeping all forms of light out. She laughed even more at the thought of vines having a conscious.
Following that observed the walls closer, her jaws aching and eyes tearing up a bit from having to laugh so hard for so long. The walls were porous, made of a dark brown rock that looked almost like coral. She then stopped laughing the moment she heard a gun shot outside of her sanctuary. Anna’s heart skipped a beat as the gun’s boom reached her ears. She froze, making the whole room snap to a pitch black.
She slowly began to back away to the vines after a few seconds, pressing her body up against the coral like wall. She concluded that because she realized she was in a dream the coarse wall couldn’t hurt her, and the vines would open right up, she was right. She left the room and set off running down what seemed to be a hallway. The wallpaper was beautiful mixes of magnificent reds and powerful greys and blacks. The carpet, though, was an ugly, dirt brown. There was nothing else in this room, except for a door made of a beautiful wood that was neatly centred in the middle of the far wall.
As she ran down the hall she was trying to remember something, anything from when she was among the awake. Nothing came to mind. She slammed the wall to her right hard out of frustration as the door swung open for her and she ran through. She stopped in the next room. Immediately she was blinded by the pure white. “It looks like the inside of the starship enterprise its so bright!” She muttered as she tried to blink the light away. She walked forward.
Anna walked forward for at least twenty minutes before finding a door. She looked at it for a bit of time, the small shadows just barely making it visible in the blinding white room. Anna reached for the handle to find a lock on it. She tugged it open with a surprising amount of ease before reaching for the door, her heart slowly beginning to thump with anticipation.
She opened the door to find a deep cavern. The world her mind had created seemed to cut off there. There was only a dark, seemingly never ending ledge just waiting for her to stumble over. There was a slight reassuring breeze that seemed to pull her in, though. It was warm, but not to warm that it burnt her skin. It felt almost like a tropical breeze. “My mind wouldn’t play tricks on me, would it?” She asked herself, looking over her shoulder to check if she was being followed only to find her every word spelled out on the huge, white walls in a dripping blood.
She looked back at the cavern quickly. “It might be a trap, set by the hunter chips, or maybe the safe spot…” She said, looking over her shoulder to see these new words she spoke appear. She closed her eyes and straightened her head, whispering a “Here goes nothing…” knowing in the back of her mind that the walls would repeat her words. She took a step off and allowed herself to fall. She fell, fast. The wind was blowing her long blue hair back and making her grey eyes water. That’s when she blinked. When her eyes opened she felt that she was now in her street cloths (A grey sweater and a pair of jeans) and saw nothing but buildings around her. They were tall and covered in windows, they seemed never ending. Until she saw the pavement speeding toward her, that is. She let out a scream as she saw it. It looked so unbelievably real. She shut her eyes and braced herself before smacking on the pavement below her. Her body slammed into it hard sending and piercing and agonizing pain throughout her body. Her lungs felt as though they had broken and she wasn’t able to breath at all. Her eyes filled with what burned and looked like blood. That’s when she knew she hit her head. She felt like screaming out in pain, that was the only thing she wanted to do. Whatever was left of her brain knew it was futile to even try though; seeing as she couldn’t even breath and that it's a wonder how she even was alive. The last thing she saw was a man with a gun sitting on a bench across the street, smiling.
*****************************
That is when she woke up. She was in a hospital. She instantly let out an unavoidable, ear-piercing scream in pain. Immediately doctors and nurses rushed to her side, all of them with wide smiles. She stopped screaming after about a minute. She looked at all of their happy faces confused. They all grinned at her struggling to say things like “Congratulations!” and “Nice work!” She looked at them even more confused, what were they talking about? Where was she?
“I demand to know what is going on!” She burst out, only to get startled and confused looks from around her. She repeated herself, “Tell me where I am!” They looked at her, even more puzzled. She noticed one of them in the corner tapping away at a computer screen. It had bright green binary codes on it with a black background. After what seemed like a few minutes of pondering it made a beep and a bunch of symbols came up on the screen. They looked a bit like a form of writing but not entirely. She looked over to the doctors and nurses who were now staring at the bright green squiggles covering the screen, smiling. “Are they translating what I am saying?” She asked herself in an astonished whisper, only to see more symbols come up as she spoke. They all looked at her and nodded. One spoke “y-y-yeff…” He said that with much struggle.
Another one then approached her. He was tall with slender cheeks. He wore a white robe and a white toque, his brown hair hanging out in a goofy way. It seemed to suit his slender face though. He carried a matching clip board with only one page on it. hHe had a pen in the top clip part of it. It was a blue ball point that had a number seven at the top. She then noticed the matching seven on the back of the clip board that was almost covered by his hand.
He extended his hand to shake hers. He spoke saying “My name is Doctor Umberye, correct?” He looked as though he was worried his English wasn’t understandable. Anna giggled a “Yes.” As she extended her hand and took his in a firm grasp, shaking it. The nurses and doctors let out a gasp, muttering foreign noises to each other, taking notes. The doctor speaking with her quickly pulled his hand away and took notes. Anna was confused by this, maybe she was in another country?
She tapped on his page on the clipboard. “Paper?” One of the nurses seemed to be smart enough to remember the translator and got her a piece of paper and a pen. Anna smiled a thank you and great fully took it. She then scribbled a few drawings on the paper. The first was a map to symbolize ‘where’, then a picture of an eye to symbolize 'i'. Praying that they would understand her question, she presented it to the doctor. Everybody’s faces lit up, fascinated before scribbling notes on their clipboards. Umberye did not, however. He simply grabbed the paper from her; taken back by (what seemed to be to Anna) the simple fact that she could draw. He looked at her with a smile. “A-alive.” He said before finally taking some notes. “Alive? What on earth does that me-“ Then She remembered her dream. Was it a memory? She grabbed the paper from him and scribbled drawings below it. She drew a quick drawing of a skeleton to symbolize death below her previous doodles. She handed it back to him. He nodded, “Yef.”
Anna was taken back by this, dead, then alive? Was she in heaven? No, if she was then she would have wings, and wouldn’t have to struggle to perform such a simple task as communicating. Then the doctor handed back the paper. On the back he wrote, “Teestin rye now.” Anna managed to decipher in her head “Testing right now…” He nodded with a wide grin. He then put the clipboard down on the bed side table. He lifted his small hand with long slender fingers. He tapped all of his fingers to his thumb in a pattern. “Index, middle, ring, index, ring, pinky” She spoke aloud as he did. He then tapped on her hand, “Oh…” She held out her hands and repeated it, speaking aloud as she tapped her fingers together. “Index, middle, ring, index, ring, pinky.” The doctors and nurses then scribbled on their papers more, as well as Umberye.
Umberye then lifted his foot up in an awkward way and wiggled his toes in what seemed to be advanced looking sandals, straps all around them, with different lights all over. As he wiggled his toes different lights over his muscles lit up. She smiled a bit at the sight of the shoes. She then wiggled her toes with ease and a smirk. The doctors scribbled some more on the pages. He then made her wiggle her fingers and mover her wrists. All was working normally, she expected as much. He then smiled and put everything down.
He grabbed her hands and said, “Up.” He said it with a proud look that he had that one word memorized. He helped her into an upright position. She didn’t stand easily, her whole body was stiff as a brick. The doctors smiled and whispered amongst themselves as they all took notes. Then doctor Umberye pointed approximately three meters in front of Anna. She picked up on what he wanted her to do and began to walk forward, face contorting in pain as she took her steps. The doctors then let out cheers and called congratulations. All were clapping. Umberye looked as though he was full of pride. She slowly craned her neck to look at him. “Did you restore me?” she asked. He looked at her with a slight worried expression, “Restore? Yef.” He said, his voice shaky. She was glad he knew that word, it could be use full.
Then her brain clicked, she fell into one of the hunter’s traps. She let out a grunt in frustration at the thought. She still couldn’t remember anything before the dream.
The doctors left slowly as Umberye was helping her around the room to stretch out her joints. Anna looked up at him the whole time, curious as to where she was. Then she finally spoke, “I still don’t know where I am.” Her words came up on the screen. He looked at her, then around the room for others. He let out a sigh of relief when he saw nobody else. “I will tell you later.” He said in a whisper. She looked at him in surprise, “You have been able to speak English this whole time?!” She asked in frustration. He clasped his hand over her mouth to silence her. “Yes, but please stay quiet about it. I am not exactly allowed to know this much English, only the royalty can.” She looked at him confused, taking a few steps away, her body not as stiff anymore. “Why not?” She asked, equally as frustrated but quieter. He looked a bit scared to tell her. “I wont tell.” Anna said, trying to make a reassuring smile, irrigardless of how impossible it was, given her frustration with him. He let out a sigh. “The only way I would be able to is if I was to access the dead language files from the royal computer, which is illegal, sentence is death.” He said very quiet. She caught on quickly. “So even understanding what restore meant could have you killed?” She asked, disbelieving. He nodded yes before going to help her to a chair.
She thought over what he said in her head, pondering over every bit of the conversation. Once she made it across the surprisingly large room to a chair and sat down. She looked at him, her question returning. “It’s later, I demand to know where I am.” She stated in a stern but quiet voice. He looked at her with what seemed to be an annoyed sigh. “Well, you are in what you would consider the future.” He pressed a white button on the wall to her left and a screen came up. He moved the hologram with a simple push of it in front of her.
“It says that you died 250 years ago. Rather than being buried your family donated you to us, well, past us, saying it was what would be best for you." He tapped a picture of her dead body on the screen that was taken before she was donated. "Your body had been cryogenically frozen along with multiple bodies. You were the last attempt at bringing back the dead and I was the only doctor up to the job. I worked on restoring you for ten gruelling years. After four years we finally had your entire head going. We put you in a dream state, what you woke up from not an hour ago was a dream that you had been having for six years. The entire time it was displayed on a screen so we could check that you were having no nightmares, about four years ago you dreamed up the hallways, that was also when we had your heart going. We were, as you could imagine, terrified, though you never seemed to wake up. Until you dreamed of your death, that is. Luckily enough, we had officially finished not half an hour before, we were going to awake you anyway!”
He said the last bit with a slight chuckle. He closed the screen with another press of the same button. She looked at him, blown away by what she had just heard. He had to be kidding. “I want proof.” She spoke, eyes blank, mind buzzing with curiosity. He pressed another button and pulled out a screen. At the top it said “51”. “This is tape fifty one of your dream. You spent one year laughing, you know that, right?” He said with a smile before staring the tape.
It was in first person, and was exactly what she remembered. It was her giggling after asking why her feet were sore. AnnaAnna smiled as she saw the screen light up. It was true. He stopped the tape. “Your feet hurt because we finally put your fixed ones on.” He answered with a smile. Anna stared at the rolling tape of her laughing for a while; about three mites if a time had to be put on it.
Anna was then about to say one thing, about her feet. Though something else, more urgent at the moment came out. “Im starved!” Umberye let out a laugh. “Okay,” he slowly helped her up. “Lets go to the cafeteria and get you some food.” He reached into a cupboard and grabbed something. When he pulled his hand out he had a beautiful dress. He held it up to her with a smile then handed her the dress. It was only now Anna realized she was dressed in a white surgical gown. She smiled a thank you before she slowly and painfully walked behind a white divider and got slowly slipped the white dress on. It was a bright white all over with a closed neck and long sleeves. The dress went to her knees and was made of silk. She left equally as painfully and slow as before. “Glad to see you can walk on your own, just a bit stiff, eh?” He asked with a small laugh.
