In 1987, a class of high school seniors were chosen to take an end-of-the-year trip to explore Germany for a month. The set out from Boston, on their way to Germany. While the students were sailing, a big storm hit, making large waves that turned the ship over and their ship sank. When their ship sank, it sank fairly close to some landmass. Luckily, everyone got into the life boats safely and started to paddle to the land. When the students and few teachers set foot onto the land, they saw a lot of trees and a lush, green forest. The land was fairly large, no telling how big it was. The sky turned a dark, smokey grey, and everyone ran into the forest to not get soaked. Some of the students managed to take some of their clothes with them, while others brought books or food...
Everyone soon discovers an abandoned city hidden within the forest. The students look around for any sign of people, sadly, finding none. The students and teachers realize there is no hope of going back. They must find a way to make a population and survive.
And now, the struggle for survival begins.
