So, woke up this morning before going to work, turned on the laptop, booted Win7................................................................................5 min later I hard stop it because we haven't made it past the splashscreen. Pressed power again, booted to windows recovery environment. Tried the repair. No go. Tried system restore. Restores failed. clicked the windows backup image loader. Forgot I wanted to save some files before I go rewriting everything. Accidentally pressed the factory format option. Acer recovery booted. Aw s**t. Every time that thing's ran it's blown up my bootloader. So I power down, power on, sure enough, Grub's broken. Popped in the linux live disk to rescue grub. Tried the grub repair tool. Didn't work. Tried it again, still didn't work. Tried backing up several files to my portable HDD. That failed halfway through, and then the HDD locked up. Still donno if it's broken or not. Tried installing linux, didn't work, 5 times. So now I'm sitting here downloading a new linux iso hoping this one will work and install and fix everything before I end up being forced to format this whole damn hard drive. Mouse stopped working while I typed this post.
