Day Zero~I left a day later than I meant to. Still working out the kinks in the transmutation circle, but now I'm certain I can pass through the Gate without any side effects of my power as a Chronos. I also brought a bag of gold pebbles I'd transmuted out of stones gathered from the riverbed, as I'd discovered on my last journey that the currency paid to me by the government didn't suffice.
I got a few odd looks when I leaped off the roof of a building in central Tokyo, but I think most of the onlookers assumed I was just another wild teen. I'd been careful to make sure my clothes didn't stand out from the other people's, choosing a miniskirt, halter top, and thigh-high boots opposed to my usual travel gear consisting of black cargo pants, a wide leather belt, heavy cape, and sword. I'd even been so careful to put my hair up in a messy knot on my head so, on that night I hopefully looked like any other teen raving at the many nightclubs on the streets of Tokyo.
I realize that my main reason for returning is to find Veridel, but I can't help but pay a visit to Sayuri, who helped me during my 3-month stay in Tokyo a while back. I got here at about 3:14 AM, but it's Tokyo, and the streets were lively and the nightclubs full. It wasn't hard to track down the news of Veridel; news of a guy with blond hair, sunglasses, weird clothes, and a robotic arm that had popped up a few days ago in Italy red-flagged his location. He was on international news; apparently he's moved out of Italy and into France, and was staying with a guy called Nevil Maskelyne. The idiot. I would kill him if I didn't love him so much.
I dropped by Sayuri's aparment for an hour. At first she stared at me as if I were something out of the grave, then cried and hugged me and cried. I gave her a necklace I'd made for her, along with a few of the heaviest gold pieces in payment for when she'd helped me earlier. She didn't want to accept, but I told her it was Equivalent Exchange. After leaving the apartment, I pawned a handful of the gold pieces for a few million yen and bought the earliest plane ticket to Germany, where I could take a train to France and hopefully arrive a few days from now if everything went according to plan. Veridel better be thankful for this. (April 8th, 2006)
Day Two~I arrive in France today. The locals call it the "City of Romance", for apparent reasons. It's a beautiful place, so why does it hurt so much when I think of it that way? Stupid. There should be no reason for this.
I hate planes. The train, I'm used to, heaven knows I've taken enough trains to Central back home, but planes are just awful. Home...it's been a long time since I've said that word. If you could call it that, which I guess you would. I suppose I'm a little homesick, but that must be nothing compared to what Ver's probably feeling, considering he's got someone--multiple someones, actually--waiting for his return. Gotta hurry and find him. The problem is, I don't think the Stone's up to bringing both of us back, so chances are we're stuck here for a while. Though I guess it would be of some comfort to have a familiar face around.
I think I'm almost lonely traveling by myself again, and I can't fathom why. I was always alone before, so why should it matter now? I'm almost disgusted with myself, weak as I've become. (April 10th, 2006)
Day Three~I'd like to start off by saying I'd like to say that the guys over here are even more perverted and horny than the ones back home, but with Agios and Diver back home it simply isn't true. Anyway.
By chance I overheard a few people talking about an organization called "The Circle of Magic". It sounded alot like Alchemy so I hung around a listened. I chanced to hear him mention Veridel, so I followed the guy home. I feel like a stalker. But oh well. The moment I saw the idiot, sitting there and oiling his automail, I think I tackled him by pure instinct. Thanks to that now my clothes are drenched in oil so I had to borrow clothes from that Nickolye guy. His pants are too big...(April 11th, 2006)
Day Four~Veridel's going to check out a few subway tunnels and mark them with the circle...we're thinking there could be a Gate opened there. He seems a little more cheerful today, so I guess at least he's feeling better.
Going through the Gate so many times in such a short time is really taking a toll on my body; I can't stop getting sick, but I'm careful to hide it from Veidel and Nickolye. No use in getting them worried; it's more important that they complete the circle and get Veridel back to Amestris. (April 12th, 2006)
Day Five~Veridel did something stupid again. He hit one of the charged rails and got himself landed in the hospital. Although I hate to admit it, I'm worried as hell. I must've fallen asleep next to his bedside, but when I woke up he was still unconcious; I heard him mumble Winry and Khana's names.
Nickolye and I've been doing some more work on the circle; we're hoping to have it ready by the time Veridel gets better, so he can get back home.
Being here gives me a chance to think clearly, and for the first time I wonder if going back is really the best thing. Strangely enough the ache of homesickness has all but worn off completely. Then again, I guess there isn't much left for me back there anymore; the happiness of my 'family' is complete without me there. Why bother everyone? Maybe it's best to just send Veridel back as soon as possible. (April 13th, 2006)
