Everyday I hike up to my favorite spot on the beach. Usually before the sun sets.
Here I take a chance to focus on myself away from the society and media that claws for my attention.
My moment to release everything and just hand it the ocean, and watch it float away.
Every once in a while, memories wash back onto shore.
I grab a handful and splash it onto my face. It refreshes me.
I sit on the sand and just watch shadows drift by.
On some occasions, a figure jumps out of the water and splashes back in. I've always wanted to be just like it.
Sometimes I notice a lonely star appear directly above the sun.
Other times I see waves crash into the broken cliff. It used to be a straight edge.
I often let the wind blow sand onto my face. I can't imagine a day without doing so.
Once, many female turtles rushed around me and dug holes. I didn't think they noticed me.
At that same time of day, everyday, I lay down. I sink.
Beneath me lay time. It feels relaxing to be above it.
Before heading back, I make sure to pick up a handful of sand. I watch the particles fly away above the horizon.
That star is no longer alone.
